Pinera played on the 'Flush The Fashion' Tour and the 'Special Forces' album and tour. He was the guitarist with Iron Butterfly during the latter part of their career. Also played with Blues Image. 'Viscous Rumors' was written by Mike Pinera who was the lead guitar player on the 'Special Forces' tour. I think his plan was to get "Rumors" in the show even if he had to sneak it in while he was doing his guitar solo during 'School's Out'. I think it only happened a few times and Alice would join in and sing a little of the song just to play along.

Yeeech - you guys are getting trivial now! I don't recall specifically but more than likely it was because Pinera was probably walking around the hotel with a butcher knife in his hand!!

Mike has also been sighted with US band The The (not the UK indie band) in 1975-6 opening for Deep Purple.
As of October 1998 Mike is touring with a group called "The Classic Rock All-Stars". along with Pete Rivera (Rare Earth) and Jerry Corbetta (Sugarloaf). They have a double-CD out right now of all there hits.
