Come on pitkin open your mind! How have you never noticed the George Thorogood influence in Blue Turk?
Re: New OG Album
A bit A and B for me. Pulling them all together like this does put them in a different context and lifts them a bit but it is patchy and I would probably have seen it as a let down.texas or canada? wrote: ↑Fri Mar 05, 2021 10:45 amLoving this song order!
If this hypothetical album had been released and marketed as a "reunion" record for the original lineup, how would it have fared? What would the reaction have been?
Would it have been considered:
a) a flop and a missed opportunity like The Stooges "The Weirdness"?
b) an enjoyable rehash, if a little safe and unimaginative, like Black Sabbath's "13"?
c) a resounding success that recaptures the glory days.... (can't think of an example of a 70s band who've pulled that off... yet!)

Re: New OG Album
What we're not factoring in with this discussion is most "Live" bands work out their "New" songs in front of an audience. What works is in! What doesn't stay's at the Demo stage. What we have in this playlist is a bunch of good songs that they will stand behind! I'm OK with this & appreciate the research everybody has put in. Off to make a Comp disc, in anyway I think it should (could) run! D & C

What? No "Squeeze My Python"? You will be hearing from Crazy Yuri.

What GT has to do with BT? All I was saying is that both songs have a sexy sound, D and in love has a bluesy sound and BT has a more jazzy sound. Anyway, this is my favorite song on the new album.guttertrash wrote: ↑Fri Mar 05, 2021 11:09 pmCome on pitkin open your mind! How have you never noticed the George Thorogood influence in Blue Turk?
