The U.S. Used to have surface mail. I would often send stuff surface to the UK and it would get there as quick as airmail. My post gal said sometimes if there was space on the plane they would just throw the package in if there was room.
I've never had a problem posting gift with used CD t shirt or whatever on the declaration. No doubt this is harder for businesses.
Surface mail was great and cheap. It's how I used to ship mist international packages. You're right in that it usually took the same time as airmail as mysteriously all those packages got on the airplane instead of The Queen Mary.
The USPS ended surface mail a while back...if I remember right it was about 5 years ago.
From what im hearing International First Class mail will also be going the way if surface mail and all packages will have to be sent Priority International Mail which can be up to five times as expensive based on the weight.
The USPS and EU customs enforcement are killing international sales. Amazon has contracts with each country to save on postage fees but they must adhere to strict Customs compliance.
Again...the little guy takes it in the backside.

I like it. A nice flat out rock E.P. Some of it reminds me of Iggy Pop.
We are really getting a treat this year.
New tour production with a great setlist and new music out of the blue.

I'm liking the clips a bit more after a few plays. Not quite sure why he wanted to re record Detroit which was one of the best songs on Eyes.

The production on the clips reminds me of the Alice Does Alice EP. Very stripped down. I suppose that's appropriate for a Detroit rock tribute.

Those songs don't need a lot of embellishment. It's nice that they are covering fairly obscure stuff unlike The HV.
Alice does Alice is just bland and pretty unlistenable.

Can't argue with that. Great to see a variety of different recordings coming out in a short space of time (Phil Campbell included). With this, the tour and the radio show you wonder how the golf handicap has been maintained..

Im guessing these songs were recorded pretty much live in the studio with few over dubs and in a relatively short period of time.

You could well be right. Still, it's good to see the variety. Just back from my holidays and it was surprising but great to hear Who's Laughing Now and then The Sound of A on what sounded like a local Dutch radio station.
