As a coheadliner, it's probably going to be awfully close to a full set.

Question, Alice has a bunch of gaps open for more tour dates when Nita Strauss's solo tour ends on June 8th then Alice tour starts on mid-July . So you all think he'll add more dates for June just on his own?? Cause the halestorm tour and European tour aren't many dates compared to what his schedule always is.. an don't tell me he's older .

He doesn't really need three guitarists, so...

Yeah I agree with you on that but, it brings out the sounds more with three guitarists. But you didn't answer my first question I posted, padre_sliprat

All the official ads I've seen both artists names are exactly the same size, and it would normally be written into the contract that they are the same size, as co-headliners. I remember back in '95 there was a big deal about some venues putting Scorpions name bigger then Alice's when they toured together, and we were reporting every time we saw it incorrectly so it could be fixed. It was against the contract, they had to be the same size on everything (even though that WAS technically Scorp's tour.)

As to Alice's name being first? Alphabetical. A and C both before H.

I wouldn't be that surprised to see Alice go on first. He seems to like that spot. Hit the audience while they're fresh and then let the other act try and follow him. Win/Win for him. He doesn't have a problem about not going on last that many fans have (me included).
Halestrorm are big AC fans, so that may play into it as well if they don't go on last. It's clear who the bigger name is, he's a legend, but who is the bigger concert draw in the states I really don't know. The two criteria aren't the same thing.

We obviously expect Alice to go on last, but there is more to it then that. Managers negotiating deals always what the best for their own acts, it's their job.
They may even switch night by night in an effort to be fair to everyone. Time will tell.
While that may be technically true, looking at these, I'm certainly left with the distinct impression that Alice is being given the higher spot carrying this tour of the two acts.

I'd be beyond shocked if Alice were to go on before Halestorm, they're simply not that big of a band and frankly I'm surprised they even deserve a co-headline. If he were to go on first, then I would recommend he seek some new management.

General perception on the internet definitely seems to lean toward a feeling that Alice will be closing the show. I've seen a good handful of posts by Halestorm fans mentioning their intent to watch HS and then leave before Coop's set starts.

Time will tell!

You must not listen to the same FM radio station that I do. :smack:
Halestorm gets much more airplay than Alice does. Halestorm gets daily if not hourly rotation.
I'd be lucky to hear AC once a week. If it is - it's ACG!

Not getting a whole Alice show even if it is almost all of it along with two other bands that shouldn’t even be on the same stage as Alice, is not my idea of fun. I’d be happier to pay these prices for Alice alone as it has been in the U.S. mostly.

I honestly have never heard any Halestorm to my knowledge, so I figured I'd check them out on Spotify.

For the genre of music they play, they are incredibly lackluster. Lyrically, it's embarrassing. It's all extremely sexual, but it comes off as desperate and trying too hard. Go read the lyrics to the song "Do Not Disturb" for a good laugh.

I like a lot of stuff in the same/similar genres, and sexual content doesn't bother me in the least, but this is just parody level bad.

My wife does like them and has seen them, so I better keep this opinion to myself.

The choice of bands on the US tour is interesting, but there are only really a few ways tours for Alice can go.

1. He just does a normal tour with an almost unknown opener (if any at all) and play the Casinos etc.. smaller halls basically. Sure, we prefer that, but it isn't going to really pull in a new audience.

2. He can tour with other "legacy" acts, either as co-headliner or "extra special guest". This way he can play larger venues possibly, but the audience will have a fair amount of cross over. This is good in some ways (as he invariably can hold his own if not completely blow the other band off stage), but not so much in others (old has-beens). It reduced the chance of exposure to a new audience.

3. Or he can go out with bands that are currently riding a wave of popularity, even if they aren't as musically compatible. It could be argued neither Zombie or Manson are musically compatible, but the tours sold well and there was obviously a theme there.

In this case it's Halestorm, who are apparently "hot" at the moment, and 'Motionless in White', an up and coming band looking for exposure on a bigger tour. I know little about either.

When I've heard Halestorm it's never really impressed me particularly. I know they like to push their classic rock influences by regularly covering the old guard songs, and do a decent job of it, but I don't recall anything of their own making much of an impression. The track Remarkably points to ('Do Not Disturb') is pretty awful, especially the verses which make me cringe. This one's pretty catchy though, and maybe a little Alice-ish? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j2OD-dV7j_I . All told they seem a little patchy at best.

Interestingly MiW definitely seem to have a bit of an Alice vibe in some places, even if it isn't musically. Check out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2qN5ewi44N8 for some very Alice-esque visuals. Face makeup, circus, top hat and tails etc. In all likelihood the influence is indirect, via Manson especially, then direct but who knows. Personally I think I would prefer the 30-40 minutes of them then an 80 minutes or whatever of Halestorm, but that's just me! There are are a dozen bands that sound very similar out there at the moment but they can only gain from doing the tour. Interestingly that just after this tour was announced they announced their own headline tour. Very smart if the are playing the same or similar places. Anyone who sees and likes them opening is more likely to go check them out at their own show if it's soon afterward.

In the end I don't think it's a bad bill. Three bands that are significantly different from each other, but still rock bands who the audience might find they like. They can all gain something form this lineup. I'm not sure I'd want to sit through several nights in a row of Halestorm, although happy to give them a chance. And if they go on last and aren't your cup of tea you can skip out early!

I laughed at this first comment on the Halestorm YouTube link Si posted above:
I wonder if Ajay ever gets tired of playing in a band where a lot of the songs are about how freaky his sister is in bed

Halestorm is a great band in my opinion, Lzzy's vocals are especially strong. Do Not Disturb is not in any way a good example of what they're all about either. For those unfamiliar a better example would be Love Bites which was their big hit years ago. I've always really like they're performance on Fallon too https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VSJ9N-aCUOE

I like that Alice is touring with a current band, and while they are indeed pretty popular they aren't gonna be going on after Alice.

They really should be Co-Headliners & alternate.
Because, as previously stated Halestorm fans are already prepared to skip after.
But, to be kept in the dark until showtime would keep them in their seats(or standing as the case may be.) Go Shep! :alice:

Never cared for 'tough girl' bands. Runaways, Joan Jett, etc. Always seemed really silly - like a more embarrassing than usual episode of Happy Days. MiW is Manson to the bone. Just glad it's not a bill with Alice's contemporaries...that always seems so old and dusty in a very depressing way. Could still do without Halestorm.

The band put first in advertising even on a coheadling situation almost always goes on last. In fairness to Halestorm fans and I am familiar with their music and I do like the tough girl bands but find Halestorm fairly generic but like a few of their songs, is if Alice went on before them I would leave after Alice"s set.

You are going to have a diverse audience which is good. It gives Alice exposure to young people while introducing some of the older Alice fans to a couple of younger, popular bands. I actually prefer an opening band for concerts.

I loved it in the '70s and '80s, when the opening bands I saw included AC/DC, Judas Priest, Night Ranger, Queensryche, etc.

Now, I'm old and prefer no opening band. ;)
