Zappa's influence on Alice Cooper
Zappa's musical influence on the group is non existent after Bob Ezrin became involved with the group. However, whether Alice admits it or not his impact Alice's persona was lasting. When Alice deviated from his Zappa's like irreverence to mainstream and counter cultures and use a clever lyrics that mingled humor and shock in the same verse his career took a nose dive. Sure there are little differences, Zappa was more zany, Alice more macabre, Zappa more political, Alice more apolitical. Before Zappa came along, they were pretty much using the Beatles as there template. Frank had on big impact on Alice Cooper the man, maybe not so much on the others.

Frank Zappa was a musical genius, just ask Dweezil.
The ACG & Alice Cooper were unique & ahead of their time.
Frank recognized that, & influenced both in some way or another.

Just like you can here Pink Floyd in Levity Ball or hear The Doors in Below Your Means, you can hear FZ in Changing Arranging - Who Are The Brain Police? But it's the ACG trying to be part of the Freak Scene where they were most trying to be like FZ.
I suppose the version of Lay Down and Die, Goodbye found on Easy Action was an attempt at sounding like The Return of the Son of Monster Magnet
