The best of Easy Action and PFY
With many favourable reviews of 'The Sound of A' of which I agree with what really has made this extra special was finding out its origin went way back to the ACG era. This has made me revisit the above two albums and if one could take the best tracks of these and record today but keep that 60/70s sound (as with The Sound of A) I really think it would make an exceptional album. The question I pose is do you agree and which tracks would you choose? This would be my selection.

Both fit onto one 80 min. CD w/time to spare. Why change a thing?
By playing them in their entirety you can hear the band progressing!
But, when Ezrin got behind the Board for LITD - Magic!!

I don't think you could go wrong with any combination of songs from both albums.

If I may put forward a slice of personal colostomy...
Re: The best of Easy Action and PFY
Love EASY ACTION as is and except for a few cuts on PRETTIES, would only take them out and put in "Nobody Likes Me" in their place. PRETTIES does take awhile to grow on You, but for a first album by such a raw band, it's not bad at all.
But like DAC said about Ezrin and LITD...indeed MAGIC!

I think its a real shame that Alice has never been tempted to play a song from either of these albums in a live performance.

I don't know that he hasn't been tempted to do so, but his voice is definitely not the same, and the material wouldn't fit the modern stage show. Also, most of the audience members aren't familiar with a lot of stuff on the big-selling albums, let alone the first two. That's my thoughts, anyway. I'm glad we have Pretties For You NYC - now if we can get an Easy Action LA!MVS 1009 wrote:I think its a real shame that Alice has never been tempted to play a song from either of these albums in a live performance.

Yea, I don't ever see Alice doing any of these songs in the context of a touring live show...BUT...anyone remember what Sparks did a few years back? They did a show for each of their released albums, played in full. A 21-night "Sparks Spectacular" residency at the O2.
I would kill for a similar experience for Alice. Highly unlikely but it's exciting to think about!

I'm a big fan of Easy Action. Don't even think about chopping that one up. It's a great album on it's own.

I can see him seamlessly slipping in 10 Minutes Before The Worm between Poison and Feed My FrankensteinMVS 1009 wrote:I think its a real shame that Alice has never been tempted to play a song from either of these albums in a live performance.

The promoters have been begging him to do just that for years!Babysquid wrote:I can see him seamlessly slipping in 10 Minutes Before The Worm between Poison and Feed My FrankensteinMVS 1009 wrote:I think its a real shame that Alice has never been tempted to play a song from either of these albums in a live performance.
