Trivia: Ralph Morrison-violinist

Post by GailsFriend » Fri Aug 04, 2017 6:06 pm

I have recently made the acquaintance of Ralph Morrison. Who is that? Well, he is a violinist. He was my guest this week at my house. We had talked about music and musicians and, then the conversation took a turn for the better. We were discussing Alice Cooper (of course), and he made the revelation known that he had played on one of Alice's songs....I said, "What? Which one?"....he said, "I am not sure of the song, but, I know it was somewhere between the years of '87-'91".....I frantically began to go through albums and song titles in my head...and said, "Might As Well Be On Mars?"....he said, "yes"....."...you know I thought most of that was synthesized, I guess not.."....

I began to look at the credits for MAWBOM...but, they only listed the "string arrangements" credit, of which he also confirmed.

Then, I played the song on my stereo, with Ralph Morrison, and listened to the song in its entirety.....IN MY LIVING ROOM!

I will say that the violin in the production is kind of buried, but, it's there and now, I have a new appreciation for the song and....

I can't believe I was talking to the actual violinist....pinch me.
"What part of DEAD don't you get?"

Was he related to Jim Morrison?

You know Alice used to hang out with Jim Morrison, Jimi, and Janis.

At one time they all lived in the same house as Pink Floyd. Oddly enough no photos exist as Glenn took all the cameras apart to add to his fret board.

Trivia: You can see Robby Kruger wearing Glens socks on the cover of The Doors Waiting For The House Of The Rising Sun album. Jim's mom had been by earlier in the day and accidentally took all of Robby's underwear along with Jim's. It was Laundry Day remembers Robby. We both wore Hane's in those days so it was an easy mistake. With the photo shoot fast approaching and Robby in a blind panic Buxton stepped up to save the day. Sadly the socks were not returned, as promised, and Alice and the boys left the next day and moved to Detroit.

And that, my friends, is what inspired Bob Ezrin to force Flea and the boys to wear socks on their Red Hot Chili Peppers - just as he force feeds Alice a Melodyne plug-in at hammer point. He's just evil like that. True story.
