For those interested Pro Studio Masters offers a 88.2 kHz / 24-bit version of the Album.

I was hoping it was going to lift some mud but to be honest I'm not sure I can hear too much difference from the MP3's I have.padre_sliprat wrote:Sounds really good.homerx wrote:For those interested Pro Studio Masters offers a 88.2 kHz / 24-bit version of the Album.

Not looked, as i just ripped mine from the CD, but i was supposed to get one for Flogging Molly's new album and it didn't turn up in my Music store. they sorted it fast enough when i mailed to query it though.andyrew wrote:Anyone receive their digital download from Amazon yet? Padre dont it seem a hundred years ago. Hmhmm. Umm ya. I ordered the box set thru amazon.com. It says free digital rip. Amyone ever do that before? I usually just rip the cd.
This makes what? 2? Solo alice albums in a row to feature the band on some tracks. Maybe a band album is being worked out??

It's going to be an ALICE day in the mail for me from Amazon...the 2 cd/shirt and vinyl of Paranormal, the bluray of Monster Dog, and some other horror movies...

The difference I listen for is more detailed midrange on guitars - kinda like re-tubing a Bandmaster with NOS RCA 6L6GC vacuum tubes (circa 1960). Of course, maybe I'm seeing the Emperor's New Clothes, too.pitkin88 wrote:I was hoping it was going to lift some mud but to be honest I'm not sure I can hear too much difference from the MP3's I have.padre_sliprat wrote:Sounds really good.homerx wrote:For those interested Pro Studio Masters offers a 88.2 kHz / 24-bit version of the Album.

Yeah it's not like going from dvd to blu-ray where the difference is stunning.

Bit miffed with Amazon.
Having pre-ordered both CD versions within minutes of them becoming available, neither have been dispatched (let alone arrived)by release day.
I therefore cancelled one of them and just walked into HMV a few minutes ago and purchased it.
The vinyl versions will hopefully arrive this weekend

I've ordered the box set through Amazon. Mines dispatched so shouldn't be too long, even though it said I would have it by 9am. I have heard of people getting it a day or two ago. I pre ordered mine early on as well.wind_up_toy wrote:Bit miffed with Amazon.

It's pretty rubbish that they hadn't even dispatched it by the release date though as that kind of defeats the purpose of pre-ordering it.bigbradwolf wrote:I've ordered the box set through Amazon. Not to worry though, I have the standard copy to hand and aren't bothered if all the other versions take a few days to come along.
Re: Happy paranormal day!!!
My vinyl and box set from AmazonUK had already arrived when I woke up this morning (and I got an email late last night saying MP3s were available to download). Can`t argue with that service.wind_up_toy wrote: It's pretty rubbish that they hadn't even dispatched it by the release date though as that kind of defeats the purpose of pre-ordering it.

Now if there was just a way to tell if it was red or black vinyl without unsealing it.

Crack the vinyl open
Re: Happy paranormal day!!!
I have no intention of doing that.wind_up_toy wrote: Crack the vinyl open
Also a warning to those unsealing their CD box sets (presumably almost everyone haha) - there is a one sheet track list glued to the back of the box that, unless you remove it and put it inside, will get destroyed when you store it or move it around. Couldn`t they have just printed it on the bottom of the box?!? Damn cheapskates.
Oh, and they only dispatched them late last night according to email I got yesterday. I really can`t complain this time.
Last time I ordered the HV direct from the record company and that took over a month to arrive!
