New album update

Re: New album update
I really like it. Good sound, good chorus. It's a little bit like Enough's enough. Not a dark, or dangerous song, but not as silly as a couple of songs from the last 2 albums. I hope he will play it live.

Re: New album update
I agree about Enough's Enough and I hear a little bit of Go To Hell as well. For my ears, this is classic a Alice Cooper song. The production, the drums, the guitar work, the intro. Instantly his best "single" in 20+ years.

The Kinks' "Phobia" meets Ozzy's "Believer". I like it, though. Best single since Gimme.

Re: New album update
Love it! Is there a hint of Bob produced Pink Floyd's Another Brick In The Wall Part One just before Alice's voice kicks in? For some reason I also thought of This Maniac's In Love With You first time I listened- although I hope no-one on the forum agrees as Trash seems such a hated album here!
Also love the Bernard Herrmann Psycho screeching violin sounds half way in. Given age his voice sounds great. Subject matter works well for Alice and the lyrics don't sound like they've been shoehorned in

Re: New album update
Had a few listens now.... managed to hear it on Planet Rock which was better without Chris Evans bleating all over it.
A really well crafted and produced song. Guitars are slick but have enough rawness about them still. Vocals are well executed and recorded. Lyrics feel polished and fit with the theme.
Top stuff. I'm interested to hear what the rest of the album sounds like.

Had to listen to it fairly quite on my phone so not hear it proper but it sounded to me like what you would get if you where to try and make something fit in with both the BP and HS albums which are two of my favourite Alice solo albums

Re: New album update
I like the single, very clear production, also using the words paranoic and vicious rumours seems like a little nod to the song Vicious Rumours "Vicious rumours, paranoic fears"!
Re: New album update
Had a quick listen this morning. Classic Coop! Really liked the beat and the lyrics with a great nod to vicious rumours. Based on what Alice has said in the past and on the show on how you can't shock an audience anymore, it seems like he's going to stay the course of more the classic garage rock sound on future albums. Hopefully he has a few more songs in the future that are truly scary mixed with the garage rock sound.
Really looking forward to this album though! The first single has set the tone for quality, but the great thing is the album tone will go in so many ditferent directions which really ups the anticipation!

Re: New album update
Glad I cancelled my order. It sounds like a plodding ACAS track.
Re: New album update
Apart from the intro, I thought it was very uninspiring; like a third-rate Vengeance Is Mine. The headache drums, and widdly widdly guitar were particularly awful. It's the sort of formulaic rock-metal, churned out by any number of mediocre nonentities. Trite, tedious, and oh so predictable.

Re: New album update
I thought the song was fantastic. I love the bass line groove, the "vicious rumours" mention in the lyrics, I love the background vocal "paranoid!!"....Alice's vocal was great....if this is great to me coming out of my computer speaker.....I can't wait until I have a real stereo version. Praise Alice Cooper!!
"What part of DEAD don't you get?"
Re: New album update
I thought it was okay. I could do without the "callback background vocals" but other than that was okay.

Re: New album update
Larry Mullen's drumming is so awful and so terribly produced.

Re: New album update
I think it's ok, let's hope that the album will be much better.
"Vengeance is mine" was much much better as a lead single!

I agree completely. Those are the song's weak point.Devon wrote:I thought it was okay. I could do without the "callback background vocals" but other than that was okay.
Re: New album update
If he wants to pay proper tribute to the song "Vicious Rumours" (which is one of the best songs he ever recorded) then he should play it at the live shows.KeithGale wrote:I like the single, very clear production, also using the words paranoic and vicious rumours seems like a little nod to the song Vicious Rumours "Vicious rumours, paranoic fears"!

I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't even remember he has a song by that name.mr.barlow wrote:If he wants to pay proper tribute to the song "Vicious Rumours" (which is one of the best songs he ever recorded) then he should play it at the live shows.KeithGale wrote:I like the single, very clear production, also using the words paranoic and vicious rumours seems like a little nod to the song Vicious Rumours "Vicious rumours, paranoic fears"!

Re: New album update
I'm so dissapointed about the live tracks.
The only one that makes me kinda happy is Only Women BLeed (as it's been sounding great on this tour and it's the full song) I hope Feed My Frankenstein sounds nice, especially the part where the Franken recording starts.
But, seriously? Another No more mr Nice guy? Billion Dollar Babies? Under my wheels?
Why? I'm seriously asking, why
