Looks like the new Metallica. I find it okay. Not genial but okay. Wayne better than W2MN.

I got my wish! It's yet another sneering photo!

Not up with the classic Trash cover but not as bad as W2MN (as much as i loved the album, who has what the actual cover should be on the inside back of the album then garbage on the front)
It does have a hint of metallica about it for sure, lets hope its as good as hardwired (which was a rocking return to form)

I like it, definitely more than W2MN. The anticipation builds...

I was hoping for a more artistic cover.
Anyway, that's not really important. Hopefully the music will be better.

I disagree. For the overall enjoyment of an album cover art is very important. The packaging of B$B and WTMN strongly enhanced both albums and albums like Constrictor and W2MN bogged down by bad cover art (and in the case of Constrictor bad music).

This new one disappoints me also, but is a minor improvement over W2MN. The Alice era of great album covers (artistic covers) has long ago passed. I rate this one 2 or 3 out of ten.

The rise of cd's pretty much put a end to classic album covers as we know it. Now with digital downloads being as prevalent as they are, cover art is even less important.

You are ignoring there will be a vinyl edition of this though.

It looks like a beginners work in photoshop or whatever.

There seems to be some unwritten law that every album MUST have a photo of Alice on the front. The W2MN cover could have been good but the photo ruins it. This photo is an improvement over that, but it's still just an hour on photoshop, combining two photos, as others have said. Disappointing, but it isn`t awful, like the W2MN photo, so I guess we should be grateful for that. It's harmless, but as so many times could have been much better.

Cheap and amateur. W2MN was so bad that anything would be an improvement. I give this a 1/10 while W2MN gets a 0. Here's hoping they will have a second cover for vinyl like they did with ACAS, because it was great while the cd version was also horrendous.

This is likely due to the fact that people in general are so used to seeing Alice on the front of his albums that if one of his albums didn't have him on the front, some people might not think it's a genuine release and it might sell even less.

I don`t think that follows. A great many pointless compilations have a photo of Alice on them, so not having quality art risks it being seen as just another compilation.
I think if the 'Paranormal' title wasn`t on it we would have assumed it was just another cheap compilation.

Oh, For the days of Pacific Eye & Ear.
Roger Daltrey did a commentary for OGWT that nailed it right on the head as regarding Album Art vs. Cd's & the subsequent music inside.
I like the cover of Paranormal, not stunning but not bad.

I agree. With a title like "Paranormal" the possibilities are endless so how they settled on this is beyond me. Seems like they went for the cheapest option, again.

Still, if the album turns out to be great, the album artwork will be viewed through that prism rather than viewing it on its own as we all are now.

It is better than the W2MN artwork, however, which was exceedingly bad.
