Is it for the "bubbles"? ir something else?
Yeah, I think it's referring to bubbles, and is likely a bottle of champagne.
Why even discuss the lyrics to this abomination of a song? Best to forget he even wrote it!

Yes. It's a parody on rap and rappers, after all.
It's an embarrassingly bad song, after all!

Actually, it is not.

I have made non-Alice fans turn into brand-new shiny Alice Cooper fanatics with Disco Bloodbath Boogie Fever....think of it as a gateway drug.

Actually I am the one who asked the "bub" meaning... and I LOVE the song.... so catchy and funny...
I am surprised there were few of you, english speaking fans who doubted about the meaning of "bub"... I thought it was obvious to you. I have another doubt about W2MN lyrics, but it's 4 am here and Im gonna sleep first, I dont remember what was it... he he

Over here in the humble farm fields of Indiana, "bub" is used to refer to a friend or a brother. "Hey bub." I don't know how it is in the "big city," because to us in Indiana, the "big city" means a city with more than 2,000 people, but I do know that champagne is often referred to as a "bubbly."

Now back to my amish way of life.

After my sleep....
Here it is my question: in the song caffeine when Alice sings "a triple shot of joe" is joe a coffee brand?
Like these products?

Joe is an Americanism for coffee.

'Bud' is better for me too, kinda like a nod to all those images of Alice in the past where he always had a can / bottle in his hand.

I too thought it was 'bottle of bud' before reading the lyrics. When I read the lyrics, I assumed he was referring to champagne.

It is an atrocious song for me. I was expecting a mickey-take of disco in the ilk of 'I was made of loving you' (KISS) or even his own NMLAYC (if you class that as 'disco'!), but this song is not even disco - it's just like a child's party song like the next track after it. Both are the lowlight of the album for me and get skipped EVERY TIME!!

>but this song is not even disco

As Alice has explained, it's about rap which is the 'new' disco, if you think about it. It's also pretty obvious, given the rapping in a fake New York Accent and lyrical references to "In Da Club" by 50 Cent, as well (and it does sound a bit like Georgio Moroder in places too, which gives is that disco feel).

It doesn't sound like rap to me, it sounds like Malcolm Mclaren's 'Bufalo Gals' crossed with some line-dance thing!

I always thought 'Disco' was a style of music and not a term for whatever anyone dances to in a club!? :/

You don't think Alice is rapping in the verses?

>I always thought 'Disco' was a style of music and not a term for whatever anyone dances to in a club!?

It's all the same to Alice - he calls it "disco in disguise".

Is it Alice the character who hates disco or does Alice the man genuninely hate it? Usually there are a number of songs or artists within any genre that appeal to musicians even though they may not have a taste for a paricular type of music. For example I believe that Slash jammed with Chic so was just wondering whether the hatred of disco was part of the character as a bit of fun really or is it serious hatred of that style of music.

Both, I'd have thought.

Not really a misunderstood lyric as much as not knowing what mean, but as a kid/pre-teen I had no idea what incognito meant. So when I was listening to "No More Mr. Nice Guy" I was thinking it was like a town or city...so "Church in Cognito"

Also round same time I got my first Cooper album which was A Nice Nightmare and didn't learn till today when my order of Hey Stoopid and Trash came in the mail that I had misheard a bit in "Dangerous Tonight".

I thought the lyric was "If you let me out on time, your sensuality will open up your heart and satisfy my greed" and didn't learn till today looking through the lyrics in booklet it was actully "If you let me I'll untie your sensuality, I'll open up"

this is fun !
- on NMMG : helped to plant a tree (instead of helped the blind to see ) ( at that time people were very aware of environment isssues)

-on UMW =: wait a second, i cannot leave her(at) home ( instead of Old lady is sick..

-when Alice ( on Hey Stoopid) sang about his "bike", I thought he meant bicycle, which of course sounded...stoopid !

and many many more :alice:
you really wouldn't understand..

From Desperado I always heard - You're as stiff as my smoking Beryl

instead of the actual lyrics of "You're as stiff as my smoking barrel"

"Eyes swimmin' in blood,
Like a rat on a sewer flow" instead of

'I'm swimmin' in blood,
Like a rat on a sewer floor'.

I always heard that last line as 'Like a rat in a sewer flood'
Public Animal - instead of 'Lifer in a state penitentary, I always heard 'Like a locker' :p
Re Disco Bloodbath, I first though it was a bottle of Bud too

And My Stars mainly consisted of complete nonsense - I had no idea what he was on about til t'internet came along....what a revelation that was!
I just rememberd another one! In 'Feed My Frankenstein', where Alice sings "I wanna drink the wine from your fur tea cup"
Isn't that purity cup? And sometimes 'virtue cup'
I hate Opera, I hate Oprah
