of course you are entitled to have your opinion, but to really get this album, you would have to listen to it entirely, to get the story, cause that's what a concept album is all about imo.
there are some "weaker" songs on this album imo, but , again, imo, i find it to be a good album and after all these months I still listen to it frequently, which could not be said about ACAS , for instance;
Sure, in my cd player there's also Killer at this moment, and that is still another category

Re: The Alice Cooper album of the Day:WELCOME 2 MY NIGHTMARE
I really enjoyed this album. Like Gail I have around 5 copies. (redLP/blackLP, CD, Magazine CD and itunes). It makes me hopeful the ACG can work together again. As I think those songs where the best on the album.
I dislike Zipper Catches Skin the most among the albums. Still have 3 versions of it. {CD,Tape,LP) Although a few good tracks regardless.
Alice just stay away from Country and Rap. Really the only genres that don't work.
Can't wait to see whats next.

In my opinion, Alice's second best album since 2000 (Brutal Planet is first). The album is fun and if it weren't for a few really bad tracks like DBB and GGW, it would be a nearly flawless album. I noticed a lot of people commented on Along Came a Spider. I revisited that album again the other day (haven't given it a listen in a long time) and it still is one of my least favorite Alice albums.

One of the best albums he's ever done. Every track is a masterpiece.
My favorite songs are Caffeine, I'll Bite Your Face Off, What Baby Wants (Ke$ha is my guilty pleasure lol) and A Runaway Train.
I love how adventurous Alice got on this album. 5/5.

I'm going to agree with Diane D on this one. Believe me, as a fan, the last thing you want to do is trash an album by someone you've come to respect. I honestly can't even listen to this one, even though I was REALLY looking forward to the input from the original ACG members. I wanted to like it, and spent several weeks listening to it - really giving it some time to sink in. It's just too silly, cartoonish and cliché - from almost every angle.
At a certain point, you need to be honest, or you get "Fat Elvis." If all of you keep ranting and raving about his duets with keshia and his silly songs (Ghouls gone Wild, Disco), that's what you're gonna get.
Live, he's still the best.. His recorded output over the last few years has left me scratching my head..

So you're saying that a song like "I Love The Dead" isn't "silly".

Re: The Alice Cooper album of the Day:WELCOME 2 MY NIGHTMARE
I think the majority of Alice's songs are "silly". Not silly bad...just silly subject matter. I don't think he has done a lot of socially conscious songs for some time (Hey Stoopid would qualify as one, I guess). As the great Beavis and Butthead once declared, "You aren't scaring anyone any more, Alice."
Although the politically charged social commentary on 'Feed My Frankenstein' should spark raging debate on the subject of artificial life forms and the medical conundrum of how to determine when a body is deceased. (As well what the real meaning of 'Milwaukee' is.)

Exactly.

Well, there is "Dead Babies", "My Stars", "Generation Landslide", "Only Women Bleed", "Jacknife Johnny", "Nuclear Infected" (maybe), "Hurricane Years", "Lost In America", "Bad Place Alone", "Brutal Planet", "Gimme", "Sanctuary", "Brutal Planet", "Eat Some More", "Take It Like A Woman", "Sex, Death And Money", "Every Woman Has A Name" and maybe some others as well.

He isn't trying to.

Stop scratching your head... This album was meant to be silly and fun. It's all in the way that you see it. I've listened to it again. I just don't see the connection with the first nightmare, that's it.I'm Pain wrote:I'm going to agree with Diane D on this one. I agree with Diane D, W2MN had all of the classic AC elements...with tongue in cheek humour, I think it is Alice having fun and doing what he does best.

In case you don’t know, Alice isn’t really a necrophiliac, so it isn't a problem.
