meeting in Edinburgh

Post by dadascot » Mon Oct 22, 2012 1:17 pm

My boy is coming up from London for this gig and we are planning a fantastic day for him. Do any fellow sickthings fancy meeting up before the gig? If so we can arrange a meeting place, either on here or pm.

First message after hanging around here for years. Lifetime fan of 40 years and doing London and Edinburgh this year. Taking my wife to Edinburgh and keen to meet some sickthings as well. as I am coming from Glasgow I have no idea where is best. Thoughts anyone?

We are starting at Diane's pool hall at Haymarket but that will be around lunchtime but I will get a pub to meet a bit later as well. Getting excited about it now.

We will be getting into Edinburgh around 4 and hitting a pub after that. Was going to head to a pub around Haymarket anyway so won't be far away..

We will be arriving about 3. Don't know Edinburgh very well at all but would be good to meet up.

I'm heading from Glasgow. Not sure where the venue is or how best to get there from Waverly.

It's very central and easy to get to.

well we aim to get into edinburgh around lunchtime, drop our bags at the hotel, go to the venue to make sure all the tickets are there and in order then back to Dianes pool hall which is just next to haymarket station, from there we will go for some grub. The venue is just off Lothian road, one of Edinburgh's main roads leading off Princess street, there are plenty of good bars round there although I can;t think of the name of any of them just now lol, will post a pub today or tomorrow, or if anyone else has any suggestions!! We will be easy to spot, two middle aged men dressed as Ghouls and one twenty six year old looking embaressed.

im on a train from the Nottingham gig the night before and plan to get into Edinburgh just after 3pm.

Doors open at 6pm and as its a standing show a lot of fans will want to be straight in, so gonna find a bar near the Usher Hall.

The Shakespeare in the same road looks like a good choice

yip good shout, Shakespeares is a great pub, so why not meet there about 5.30 to 6pmish, noy anything to do with the fact that it is near the strippers bars.

FYI it's absolutely chucking it down in Edinburgh at the moment. Even with the 'welcome to my nightmare' tram works and the expense of taxis in the city, it shouldn't cost more than £6 for a cab from either railway station or wherever buses stop in the city centre right now to The Usher Hall/Shakespeares.

Amazing show. Good to meet James. Heading home with Alice's cane and Orianthi's pick. What a great gig :)

Great meeting you too dude. Although the more I think about it I'm sure we were sat next to each other last year. You must be delighted with your cane. Is it your first one? I have caught 2 in the past. What an amazing night that was. Anyone who has doubts about the show, don't worry. Alice and the band were on fire. Orianthi was truly amazing. That was one of the best gigs I have seen. I'm gonna be on a high for weeks now :)
