I overheard Alice say "we're cutting our set in half" for the Maiden tour.
"Golly gee it's wrong to be so guilty..."

I'm guessing "ATM" is "Wicked Young Man"?

A 45 minute set? That surprises me. I was expecting a solid hour. This is pretty disappointing.

My apology for poor typing on the phone in the dark last night:

Several songs from Welcome 2 on PA before the show

Black Widow - stairs dressed up a bit more from last week
Brutal Planet
18
No More Mr. Nice Guy w/ snake
Hey Stoopid
I'll Bite Your Face Off
Be My Frankenstein - monster
Poison - slipped bad almost went down
Wicked Young Man
Killer - guillotine
I Love The Dead
Schools Out

Personally, I think Coop clearly won the battle of the bands by a wide margin. There was water on the stage right and Coop darn near went down. He really could have ended up like Tyler in the audience. He shot some really PO'd looks back stage.

Very little Coop stuff for sale. The NMMNG round biker logo on the t-shirts is pretty cool looking.

Iron Maiden

Doctor Doctor

Moonchild
Can I Play With Madness
The Prisoner
2 Minutes to Midnight
Afraid to Shoot Strangers
The Trooper
The Number of the Beast
Phantom of the Opera
Run to the Hills
Wasted Years
Seventh Son of a Seventh Son
The Clairvoyant
Fear of the Dark
Iron Maiden

Encore:
Aces High
The Evil That Men
Running Free
Always Look on the Bright Side of Life
Caffeine! Caffeine!
Amphetamine

You can see that here at the 13 second mark. Glad he was able to pull that one out. Yikes.

Surprising. They were expecting to have an hour when I asked last week.

After seeing a couple of videos on you tube I feel a little better about it...maybe we will still get an hour on through the tour?

It just looks and feels wrong when Alice plays during daylight

Just venting my thoughts outloud on here as to what I had heard was going to be the time allowed. No particular person addressed to.

I guess they only provided Alice to play for 45 mins and not the the hour as I had heard..can't imagine Alice only doing 45 mins if he was allowed an hour.

Kind of a shame I think Alice and us fans deserve more. But I'll take what I can get.

If it wasn't for Alice I certainly wouldn't be going to one of these Maiden shows.

FWIW, I had heard an hour around the same time Si did. Then, last weekend, they were talking that they weren't sure if it was 50 or 55. So, seems it did keep getting shortened.

Let me clarify the falling incident a little better, as I was right in front of him when it happened. Early in the set, Ryan's wireless transmitter fell off his belt, and one of the batteries fell out, though no one noticed it at the time. At the beginning of Poison Alice walked over, and the battery rolled out from underneath his foot, causing the fall. Everyone up front saw it, and we were trying to signal to Alice's crew backstage that it was a battery he slipped on. They spent a solid 5 mins staring at us like "Well, what do we do?". Eventually one of them came out with a towel to wipe the bone dry floor, and was even looking down at the battery in between his feet and did nothing about it. We finally gave up trying to tell him it was a battery, and Ryan eventually kicked it aside sometime during School's Out. One of the most unprofessional ways I've ever seen an accident handled by the crew.

The Maiden crowd was very receptive to Alice, they enjoyed him more than I've ever seen a Maiden crowd enjoy one of their openers. Alice was the perfect choice for this tour as Maiden's show is remarkably theatrical this time around as well. Despite shortened sets, I do always love seeing Alice as an opener because he and the band always put their best foot forward, even more so than when they're headlining IMO.

With all due respect, and based on my experience of seeing Alice many times, his crew have always appeared to do a highly capable job. Whilst the problem was obvious to you it was probably far less clear to them. They are also probably under strict instructions not to go on stage unless there is a clear safety / technical issue that needs to be sorted. A battery is a very small object to spot so the confusion can probably be forgiven surely?
