Hey Spark in the Dark what's wrong with Bolton? At least we have Premier League football here (for now)!!!
Incidentally if you do come over from Blackpool the Railway (as its name suggests) is right by Bromley Cross train station a short ride out from Bolton station so pretty handy.

A big thanks to folks what want us in Blackpool & York. We are currently exploring Blackpool as an option - does Riffs still exist? York - where guys, needing ideas on places to play to expand our UK gigs. We do a great tribute to Alice, we use the same snake as Alice does on this tour thanks to our man Bill, if you know him say hi on this tour he's at every show. We also have a girl in our act we call her Miss Rosetta she is classic in her tribute to Cheryl. Check us out in 2012 you won't be disappointed & stop off to say hi to the guys in the band.

Re York, its difficult to advise because you will be more aware of the questions to ask the venues-but there is one venue called Fibbers where a Doors tribute act and support played last week £14...then theres a small venue called Stereo..charging £5..would depend how many people you think you could attract and whether you could drag along Dressed to Kill as well..from seeing clips on youtube I know you would go down well in Glasgow(Im Scottish)..in truth haven't been to either York venue..have seen Mercury, Queen Tribute at Grand Old Opera House York (great venue and fairly big)..hope you make it to york sometime..might be worth looking into the 3 venues Ive mentioned. (fibbers, stereo and grand old opera house)

Thanks for the heads up - will travel if I need to but Blackpool would be very handy indeed for me as I'm in Preston. :)

53 degrees in Preston (SU of the Uni of Central Lancashire)? They have lots of tribute bands on, and a good venue.
Is someone calling me?
...No

Hi again Spark in the Dark- the Railway pub is at the North end of Bolton therfore nearest to Preston -about twenty five minutes from Preston so you may find it easier than Blackpool-hope this helps.
