On the subject of Bootlegs....
With the advances of technology...is is possible to still have "bootlegs"? Considering that concerts can be recorded simultaneously while being performed...
I am only asking because I was looking in the "incomplete" list of bootlegs here and noted that there is nothing after 2006....is that because of YouTube and concert recordings sold by the artists themselves?
What started me thinking about this, is that The Whisky show could/should be recorded...because it's a historic moment.
I hope there will be an official video and cd in the future....

Re: On the subject of Bootlegs....
I agree on all counts. Bootlegs these days seem to serve as a temporary means until the official release comes out - download festival, theatre of death video, the new album, etc.
Before the album leaked, I was listening to Runaway Train, Caffeine, Bite Your Face, and Gotta Get Outta Here in terrible internet radio quality, as I will do with the Whiskey show until it is officially released. EDIT: ...if ever released at all.

Re: On the subject of Bootlegs....
Well, there will CERTAINLY be tons of people recording in various ways...since every cell phone is a camera et al...so YouTube will be busy as hell for sure afterwards.
The radio station here in LA---KLOS--will be streaming the show live, but isn't it kinda pointless to record the radio when it will be available online?
and then, there is Alice Cooper's decision...whether video, CD or...or...or...or..

Anyone outside the USA is able to listen to the live stream of LA KLOS?? Here it says it's not allowed in my location
These good little shocks must be working I’m so happy now

WHY is this an historic moment? I see nothing historical about ONE of the original band members playing the Whisky.GailsFriend wrote: What started me thinking about this, is that The Whisky show could/should be recorded...because it's a historic moment.

Re: On the subject of Bootlegs....
Yes, it is still possible. The difference being these days that people are more likely to download it rather than purchase it physically.GailsFriend wrote:With the advances of technology...is is possible to still have "bootlegs"?
Yes, it's certainly a different landscape these days. This is the kind of thing the music industry has been desperately trying to either snuff out or monetise over the past few years.GailsFriend wrote: Considering that concerts can be recorded simultaneously while being performed...
I'd say that's a pretty good analysis. The fact is, very few people (relatively) are purchasing Cds these days. I'd imagine the criminals involved in creating and selling bootlegs have now moved onto more profitable piracy ventures such as games, blu-rays, dvds, software etc.GailsFriend wrote: I am only asking because I was looking in the "incomplete" list of bootlegs here and noted that there is nothing after 2006....is that because of YouTube and concert recordings sold by the artists themselves?
Me too, if it's anywhere near as good as the 100 Club show it'll be a very special night.GailsFriend wrote: I hope there will be an official video and cd in the future....

GNDM says...."WHY is this an historic moment? I see nothing historical about ONE of the original band members playing the Whisky."
because the likelihood of Alice playing the Whisky again is minimal....and you will wish to be at this show because of its intimacy (about 500 people) and the setlist will be unique. You may want to shoot this down as a trivial show...but, I see through you...you wish you could go.
and you never know...the original band may be there... Then, wouldn't it be historic if it turns out that way? Then, you will be very very upset you didn't have a ticket in the first place.
My ticket is at the will-call window.

Re: On the subject of Bootlegs....
Historic is a bit hyperbolic. Although, depending on how many more small shows Alice does it is somewhat anomylous, so I definitely understand why people would want to make an effort to see it in person, not sure it would deserve a DVD treatment.

I for one. Wish I didn't live in Michigan right now, because the
Whisky will be one special show.

Re: On the subject of Bootlegs....
When Alice plays the casinos here the crowd is probably 3-5 hundred.
Re: On the subject of Bootlegs....
It's because I have never gotten around to updating it hahaGailsFriend wrote: I am only asking because I was looking in the "incomplete" list of bootlegs here and noted that there is nothing after 2006....is that because of YouTube and concert recordings sold by the artists themselves?
Plus it's now so easy to get concert recordings of recent tours it wasn't high on the "to do" list.
Re: On the subject of Bootlegs....
To be honset most Alice shows sound pretty identical even down to his audience comments. One or two shows from a tour should suffice.
Re: On the subject of Bootlegs....
Which venue was that? The casino shows I've seen have all been around 3000.pitkin88 wrote:When Alice plays the casinos here the crowd is probably 3-5 hundred.
Re: On the subject of Bootlegs....
Viejas in El Cajon CA. El Cajon is San Diego County.
You could easilly get to the front of the stage. If the show is outdoors the crowd could be bigger.

Re: On the subject of Bootlegs....
somebody named IBCooper on you tube is posting demos for "last man on earth" and "gotta get outta here" (both acoustic)..wonder how these leaked?
Re: On the subject of Bootlegs....
They are not demos, they are covers from a greek fan. In fact he even shows himself playing/singing along in one of the videos.
In fact this should prove that this is not a demo:
