Very cool... just one question... why not the original cover with thumb?WickedYoungMan wrote:If anyone is interested I made some Desktop Wallpaper to commemorate the event.

Good point. I didn't really think about that to be honest. That was the highest res version of the album cover I could find easily so I went with that. With the thumb I might have to mark at as "Mature" through DA's standards which would limit it on search results but I guess I could have both going at the same time.

FYI, I'm contemplating doing a bright wallpaper based on the back cover with the band standing together (Neal center and sitting.)
Anyone think that would be interesting?

Brilliant album. I can never decide between this and Killer - I would never be able to choose if I had to!
Just some useless information, but I actually have a copy of the 'thumb' vinyl album - which is pretty cool and quite daring for the time!

Personally, I would love the ACG (plus Steve Hunter maybe) to re-record this with Bob Ezrin using modern technology. I thought the re-makes 'Alice does Alice' were really good for example. You could add a big string section in 'Ballad of Dwight' etc.
I know that most of you will disagree and like Cooper's records to stay the way they were, but I have always thought that this particular album deserves 'the treatment'.

No thanks, this is a classic and there would be no way to "improve" this.Gunner wrote:Personally, I would love the ACG (plus Steve Hunter maybe) to re-record this with Bob Ezrin using modern technology. Rather than a re-recording i think this album and all the other early ones could do with a good remastering. Perhaps an idea for another box set

Alice is one of the very few artists from the 70s not to have a remasters series of all albums, quite sad realld as all the 70s albums need the treatment with new packaging.

With Glen Buxton´s distinctive guitar playing being such a big part of the sound of that album, it just wouldn´t be the same.

Steve Hoffman has already remastered LITD from the original master tapes, along with KILLER and SCHOOL´S OUT on 24 karat Gold CDs available from Audio Fidelity.
Dennis Dunaway recommended these to me and I think that says something about the quality of these remasters.
There was no compression or limiting used on these remasters which I like, but if you like your remasters to be LOUD (meaning compressed) with a lot of high end, you will be disappointed.
These gold CDs sound closer to the original master tapes and I can say that listening to the remaster of KILLER was a revelation compared to the Warner Bros CD.
I just hope Steve Hoffman does a remaster of MUSCLE OF LOVE on 24 karat Gold CD as well.

100% agree with Dimma. I think BDB's is next for Hoffman but I read somewhere that he has to wait six mths or so.

Actually, Audio Fidelity requested to do "Billion Dollar Babies" and were turned down.pitkin88 wrote:100% agree with Dimma. I think BDB's is next for Hoffman but I read somewhere that he has to wait six mths or so.
I believe they said they planned to wait 6 months and then try to re-request.
So, to my knowledge they have not received permission to do BDB.
I too would like to see them do MOL.

I love this album, Really I love all the stuff the Alice Cooper Band put out.
Currently I have 3 versions on Vinyl.
The airbrushed version.
The thumb version.
And a version with white letter box obscuring the thumb in question.

I hope that Audio Fidelity gets permission to do remasters of Billion Dollar Babies as well as Muscle Of Love on 24 karat Gold CDs.
Steve Hoffman´s remasters are excellent and it would be nice to complete the ACG collection.

You are forgeting the first two albums though I doubt there's much that can be done to make these any better.DIMMA wrote:I hope that Audio Fidelity gets permission to do remasters of Billion Dollar Babies as well as Muscle Of Love on 24 karat Gold CDs.
