Zurich 17.11
I'm about to leave for Zurich. Seems like it's about 8°C there now. A lot warmer than here
I feel a bit like this as usual.
Will post a review when I get home.

Re: Zurich 17.11
Aw, Jenni. No such luck. I'm not even sure he used one this time.
But I am totally hyped and high on adrenalin, that was one of my best Alice concerts ever! Crazy!
I have a "hoard" like never before, and I finally got a cane!! I still can't believe it but it's here in the room and I keep turning around to see if it's there for real
I was holding my mobile phone in one hand because I promised a friend to film her when she got on stage for School's Out, and at the same time trying to sing along.
I swear the cane flew right into my hands, I can't even remember catching it or making a conscious move.
I was so shocked and incredulous, I wish someone had taken a photo of me then, my expression must have been very funny.
Trouble is that after this my hands were shaking so badly that the video is probably no good. But another friend got a good one on her Iphone.
It was all so crazy and super friendly at the same time. I caught one of Damon's picks by sheer chance, and felt a bit bad about it since it was aimed at the girl next to me. But he made up for it as he actually hopped off the stage at the end to give her a pick in person. So my conscience is clear now
I'll spend this afternoon typing everything up. I bet this high will last me at least a couple of days!

Done typing the review: http://dragonladych.livejournal.com/180435.html
Not much constructive to say as my fan girl brain is still in full action. Adrenalin is still doing the rounds here

Re: Zurich 17.11
A friend (well someone I met after the concert) took this video.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VxJGZ-Q_vbo
Be sure to turn the sound down as it's really horrible.
But if you want to see "the moment" it's clearly visible here. I'm easy to spot as I was wearing arm warmers with lace cuffs and ribbons hanging...
Around 1:50 you can see Alice throwing the cane. It all goes so fast I still can't believe I managed to catch it!

Looks like Alice meant you to have the cane, lucky woman.

Re: Zurich 17.11
Maybe he was aiming at the girl next to me. She seemed to know the band really well.
In any case it sure made my day.
The lady who took this video was with a girl I had just "met" on Facebook (through "LisaCooper")so I was very lucky here. "Nab" the girl in question was chosen to throw the balloons, and all her friends including myself had this mission of catching her performance on photo or video. I was just lucky to be in the way
We waited for Nab to get out of the meet and greet and we went for a drink. I was glad for the company as my hotel (and theirs) was in the middle of the red light district. I wasn't too confortable with the idea of going there on my own in the middle of the night.
In fact this might have turned out to be one of the worst days of my life but luckily ended up the opposite. I started queueing at 1pm, but had to go to my hotel at 3:00 to check in. As I was walking back to my place in the queue there was a guy hanging for a balcony and another one trying to pull him up and failing.
I didn't stop to watch but still looked back when I was further away, to everyone's relief they had managed. But that was pretty scary. It was the 3rd floor and it could have ended badly.
Crazy stuff.

Glad you had a great time DL. It's funny reading what you wrote about catching the cane in your first post cos it sounds just like how I felt when I got the one in Swindon last year!

Just read your blog, nice nice nice!
And good to see that Nab had such a great time on stage (it seems like Coop kept throwing balloons or whatever to her, lol!)

Re: Zurich 17.11
Wow! Alice was in the local newspaper today!
My colleague came to me and said "Hey your "pal" is in todays paper"! I thought he was pulling my leg. I live in a small town and such cool things are never in the paper. Though there is quite a big rock community around here.
It was done by this guy: http://www.rockademy.com/lang1/
Apparently it's only going to be online tomorrow, but there's a video on his Facebook page(though I got an error message when I clicked on it)

Re: Zurich 17.11
Just found this really fabulous set of photos:

BTW, the video interview on the site I posted yesterday is up now. VERY cool interview!
I particularly love the end when Alice talks about Spider, in his asylum and shows the size of the "pet spider".... almost cute.

Re: Zurich 17.11
Cheers Dave. I'm happy I have a video memory of that moment
But I keep wondering what happened to the "mirror suit"? Laundry? Fell to pieces? lost in a time warp? Rats ate it?
