New Sony Ad

Post by Headbangers Ball » Wed Aug 26, 2009 8:25 am

The new Sony advert is great, but did Alice (or the band) actually ever throw a TV set out of a hotel window, or even trash a hotel room?

I always thought he was more into watching than throwing!

Good question. I always think of Keith Moon and Keith Richards when it comes to TV dropping.

I am curious to know the answer to the question posed. That Moonie was quite a rascal.

Yeah, my thoughts too. I think in Golf Monster he mentions they never trashed an hotel room. So, like you say, artistic licence.
...And personally, I don't care.

Well as far as the original AC band....as some of you may remember, in Bob Greene's book "Billion Dollar Baby", there was that incident where Neal Smith trashed a hotel in Utica, New York. I don't know if that's the only time a member of the original band decided to partake in some "trashing" or not. But it is an event that was documented.

And as for televisions...we all know that Alice was addicted to watching tv, especially during the 70s. In "Me Alice", he also recounts a hilarious story about him and a television and a maid walking in....but Alice may have just been kidding....although we'll never really know.... :rotfl:
