Re: The first time you saw Alice live....
I made a very conscious (and contentious) decision to go alone to my first show. My ex husband and another friend were both begging me to take them and I said NO. I wanted to be "alone" with Alice, and I'm so glad I was.
The next time I took 4 fellas with me...and ignored them all.

you look like you'd fit in the trunk of my car

Are you sure about that?
Yeah it was the Vincent Invasion. Motorhead was added as a last minute opener. They were great for sure. Didn't like Vinnie. Just wasn't for me. Alice was off the chain.
Re: The first time you saw Alice live....
Yeah I know...Quite a few people here in the south have noticed that the tour has always skipped Memphis/Robinsonville over the years. I know that the tour possibility's change every year. The Casinos are the only venues that Alice has hit over the last 10 years here. Good crowds but slim and the stage's here are way too small. I do miss the shows though. The Orpheum(Memphis)theater would be a great venue to see him.damiennalice wrote:> He still won't come to Memphis / Robinsonville. Its been since 2004 (Bare bones tour). I have given up.
It seems I am not alone in this departmant. I know where you're coming from guilty65.

That's interesting. Thanks. Do you have any evidence of this? You can contact me privately, if everyone else thinks this is too boring.

Re: The first time you saw Alice live....
My first show was at the end of September in 2000 for the "Live at the Brutal Planet" tour. I had 3rd center, and my best friend (who was a BIG country fan was curious as why I loved Alice as much so he came with me) and his cousin who liked the Coop as well. Together, we had the time of our lives...I was writing for my college paper at the time (The Louisville Cardinal) and they reimbursed me for my ticket so I saw my first Cooper show for free!!! Then I saw him at the same location 2 years later for the "Live at the Brutal Planet: Descent Into Dragontown" tour. The Louisville Palace was my venue...

The Louisville Palace is an amazing place to see a show (any show). Would love to see Alice perform there again. Same with the Ryman in Nashville.

Looks like you got your dates confused guilty65... Alice played there with VV on the 1986 Constrictor Tour:A_MichaelUK wrote:>Yeah it was the Vincent Invasion.

Syracuse, NY
Landmark Theater
Promoter:
Attendance: ~2,000 / ?
Headlining act: Alice Cooper

If you click the actual date link on this page you get the detail info posted above.
Edit: Si also has this date listed in Timelines with the same date/venue and VV opening. I think it's safe to say this is the one you were at as it's pretty unlikely they'd play the same venue twice with the same support act.

This looks to be your 2nd show... it was on:guilty65 wrote:I saw The Coop for the first time on the RYFAY tour Binghamton New York Broome county Arena.
with Faster Pussy cat, and Ace Frehley opening. Faster was awful, (Guitar player was flipping off the audience and ended set early). Ace Frehley was awesome! But Alice Killed everyone.

Don't feel bad, my memory isn't always spot on either!

Re: The first time you saw Alice live....
I've only seen Alice twice with someone else and one of those times I was going to rush to the front but the person I was with wanted to stay at the back of the floor area. I rushed anyway and told them I'd see them after the show. Now I just go alone as not to be rude when the lights go down... and you're right NSP, there's a gaggle of folks who are die-hards that you can have discussions with that don't end at School's Out or No More Mr. Nice Guy.NotSoPerfect wrote:I've also gone alone. And really....you're not alone once you get there.
Aw heck, even the casual fans are cool to talk to.

Don't you just love it when you meet a stranger at an Alice show and when you start to have a good blether you find out they have the same passion for Alice.I just love the excitement of swapping Alice stories and finding out what each other has in their Alice collection. You can't beat a good natter with a fellow Alice freak.

Yeah, I had a chat with a bloke after the Red Deer show last year about Easy Action and Dragontown of all things. Tried to convince him he was nuts for liking Deeper, but alas there are some folks you just can't reach.

Shoey, what is the fascination with Deeper?

First and only time I've seen him so far was Stockholm, 2005, Dirty Diamonds tour. Wig Wam opened.
I had a blast.

Re: The first time you saw Alice live....
Bad for them !
I think I would enjoy an Alice concert alone. Because I could focus on the show and not worry about other people. And there would be many to talk to about the subject.
I may have to do that. I just hate driving alone for a long time. LOL!
