Alice is not THAT old.
Anything I say or write is my own personal opinion, no matter who agrees or disagrees with me.

Re: The first time you saw Alice live....
Being one of the younger ones (:P), my first Alice gig was on the 2002 Dragontown tour (which toured as Monsters of Rock over here) at the Brighton Centre with support being Dogs D'Amour, Quireboys and Thunder. Had a terrible seat (south balcony, back row) and vowed that next time I'd be at the front and have been every time since.
Possible highlight of my Alice gig travels was the three shows at the Orleans Casino last year - very happy and excited to be repeating the trip again later this year!

And when I saw Alice at Hammersmith once, Motorhead were seated in the row in front of me!!
I would never join a club that would have me as a member!

First show was Special Forces at Glasgow Apollo. What a fantastic night that was.Never got to see the support band so don't know who it was.Seen all Scottish shows since and saw Alice about 20 times.I've been to see many groups or artists through the years, some of them mega stars but still nobody comes close to Alice. The ultimate rock experience you'll ever get.

I should add that the number of shows I've seen is primarily down to certain privileges or luck.

I didn't know Alice had been around so long! But in 1975 I first seen Alice at Wembley Arena and the Heavy metal Kids were in support and were great. I have seen the man 13 times so far.Jacknife_Johnny wrote:My first show was on the Welcome to My Nightmare tour at Wembley Arena, back in about 1874,

Might be one of the newest Alice fans here...
First saw him in 2006 in Champaign on the Dirty Diamonds tour. I had always liked my dad's "Alice Cooper's Greatest Hits" CD growing up...and No More Mr. Nice Guy was one of my favorite songs...but I lost the CD! (and in time, forgot about Alice) Then, 2006 rolled around and he was playing in a small theatre 10 minutes away from me and my mom and dad got us tickets (they always felt bad I never got to see AC/DC live, who I was obsessed with as a child).
I went to Best Buy and bought the Live at Montreux CD to prepare for the concert, sat in the 3rd row, and was blown away. The rest is history. I saw Alice again in 2007 and 6 days from now it'll be show number 3!
May 20th 2001, band called Orange Goblin opened, then Dio, was at the NEC in Birmingham, if i remember rightly, that was Calico's 21st birthday, but don't quote me on that.
Interesting! That was my first show too - not just for Alice but first proper rock show...must have been 14 at the time.
I half knew what to expect already thanks to a few hundred viewings of Brutally Live ... but being at the show was something else - been returning ever since.
(Never knew Lemmy was there tho - would have been lost on me at the time however as would never had heard of him.)
I do vaguely remember Dom Jolly (if it was him) walking onstage interrupting Alice's 'It's the Little Things' speech with his huge mobile phone shouting 'HELLO!? YEAH, I'M AT AN ALICE COOPER SHOW ... YEAH IT'S CRAP'

Re: The first time you saw Alice live....
I became a huge KISS fan when I first saw them live in 1976. I have seen them live 50 times or so, but after seeing Alice live in 1980 and getting to meet him in 1983, they became a distant second for me. Nothing compares to Alice. I just had to be old enough to "get" Alice.bw301 wrote: I had just seen Kiss's "not so" Farewell Tour a couple years earlier and an Ozzfest the summer before. This show absolutely killed those experiences and turned me off of Kiss forever.
As a young boy with raging hormones and a curiosity to boot, KISS certainly held my attention, but there are only so many songs about the conquest of young girls you can listen to. or are there?
Nonetheless I will still go to see the "Pseudo KISS" show when they come to NH in the fall/winter.

1982 for the Special Forces shows at the Hammersmith for me. Remember never having been so excited in my life as the lights went down on the smoke filled set. I had been s fan since '72 but had never managed to see him live before.
Ultralatex, was that the show that was transmitted on local radio. Sounded fantastic as I recall.

Yep Railwayman, that was the one.Like you,I had never known a feeling of excitement like it.I thought my heart was going to burst through my chest. The show seemed to be over in a flash. That's why I still have a big soft spot for the Special Forces era.

Re: The first time you saw Alice live....
My first Alice show was on the Rock n Roll Carnival tour at the IC Light Ampitheatre in Pittsburgh, Aug 18 1997. The openers were Dokken Slaughter and Warrant though I couldn't tell you anything about them (or even if I actually made it to the show in time to see them--my memory is fuzzy.)
What I do remember is Alice's The Showman getup which is my absolute favorite to this day, and the pulpit and the evil clowns.
I do not remember Ryan Roxie although he was apparently there.
My next show was Brutally Live 2000, then Bare Bones 2003/Eyes of Alice Cooper 2004, then Dirty Diamonds at the Freakers Ball in Cleveland 2005.
Then a drought of four years after Roxie left and Alice couldn't stand to come anywhere near me.
Last night in Columbus was my 6th.

Re: The first time you saw Alice live....
Been a fan since 1979. My first time getting to see Alice was Aug 6 1991 at Deer Creek Ampitheatre in Noblesville, Indiana (later to become Verizon wireless Ampitheatre) It was the Operation Rock And Roll Tour.. I believe 9th roll back? What an awesome concert to see Alice for the first time. The lineup was -
Metal Church
Dangerous Toys (didnt care for them)
Motorhead
Alice
Judas Priest
Next time was in 96 where he toured with the Scorpions
Next was 2002 Dragontown tour
Next 2003 Eyes tour
Next was 2005 Dirty Diamonds Tour
All of these concerts where at the same Ampitheatre here in Indiana. I am hoping and keeping my fingers crossed that he may come back here in the fall or at least close by so I can catch the show. I wasnt able to go to the two recent shows nearby So hoping for this fall
