Precisely - hence my post above where Amazon have contacted me to say that they're "still trying to obtain it".

I've read the rough manuscript from the revised edition and many of the mistakes from the first edition should be corrected when it hits shelves. I don't know who (if anyone) saw it before the first edition was published, but this time around Dale sought the help of some of us sick things whom he trusted for improving the book, correcting mistakes and adding overlooked information. Unfortunately it was rushed because it came hot on the heels of another book he'd written, his wife was on the verge of giving birth, and he missed the publisher's final deadline by a few days -- which accounts for the delayed release and any new mistakes that may appear. I think this edition's gonna be better than the first, and I'm anxious to see the results of everyone's input.

I pre-ordered this last year sometime and forgot about it. The price was a very reasonable 9.95 GBP.

Just over the weekend, my husband wanted something else off Amazon, so I checked the update for this new forthcoming guide. The pre-order price has already shot up to over 12.00 GBP!

May be worth putting your orders in now. ;)

I sold my original one on eBay sometime ago and someone paid 50 quid for it!

News on the Alice Cooper book later this week
Category: Writing and Poetry
For those curious as to when the updated version of my book on Alice Cooper will finally hit the stands (especially as Amazon.com had it listed as coming out March 1), I do have some news on the book coming at the end of this week.

And I promise it'll be good news. Hopefully.

You know, both this book and the box set were both premature in a way. I think the general consensus of opinion in 1999 was that Alice Cooper had recorded all the albums he was ever going to but has since recorded 5 studio albums two live DVDs plus others...and toured endlessly!!

When Alice said many years ago that he was like a bad cold that never goes away, I think we should have believed him!!

I disagree. By the time the box - set was first publicly announced, there was about twenty - eight years worth of Alice Cooper history to be covered and by the time the box - set did come out, there was about thirty - four years worth of history to be covered.

>I think the general consensus of opinion in 1999 was that Alice Cooper had recorded all the albums he was ever going to

That's not really true in that he'd been saying for at least a year before then that there would be another album (and there was no real reason to cast doubt on that).

I just bought this book, but have no idea how to figure out which 'edition' it is (0k..ok...call me a 'girl'... :) ). It goes up to 1998 and the cover price is $17.95 US...

It is PACKED with more information than I seriously think I'll ever be able to consume in my lifetime...

Interesting read: I don't think I'll ever make it through all of the info though...

I've read it cover to cover a few times now and I still gravitate to the bootleg section first whenever I pick it up. Some of those titles are just too much. :p

As the new one hasn`t been published yet, it's safe to say it's the old one ;)

Latest News from Dale

Saturday, March 14, 2009
Tenth anniversary edition of THE ILLUSTRATED COLLECTORS GUIDE TO ALICE COOPER is shipping!
Here's the news I know some of you have been waiting for - The tenth anniversary edition of THE ILLUSTRATED COLLECTORS GUIDE TO ALICE COOPER has just been shipped out!

I received my contributors' copies this week and will be shipping those out to those that helped with the project within the next week.

The book, which was originall 304 pages long is now close to 480 pages, with revisions on nearly all of the entries, an expanded listing of bootlegs, the additional of noteworthy radio shows and interview discs, a look at tourbooks over the years and - of course - everything that has come out in the ten years since the first edition was released!

Nearly 500 pictures were used in the book, which is my only gripe as I sent in over 1,000. The pictures are small due to the amount of text, but the print of each is very clear so making out details should be pretty easy for readers.

Hope everyone takes a chance on it and gives it a look when they see it in bookstores. I'll also have a handful for sale myself, so if you're interested in an autographed copy, just let me know.

I've got mine, so if Amazon aren't shipping yet it should be very soon.
It looks about twice the length of the previous version with tons more info included.
