My wife hates Alice Cooper
(The silly things you can do with an old synth...)
That's the title of my newest song. It's really tongue-in-cheek, she doesn't actually hates him that much.
http://www.musitards.com/MP3/2008/alice.mp3
It's all in french though. Rough translation:
My wife hates Alice Cooper (Alice Cooper)
Is it because his songs are scary (Alice Cooper)
How can one hate this son of an elder (Alice Cooper)
He who is an excellent golfer (Alice Cooper)
My wife hates Alice Cooper (Alice Cooper)
Is it because of his uglyness (Alice Cooper)
How can one hate this shock-rocker (Alice Cooper)
He who so well wears leather (Alice Cooper)
My wife hates Alice Cooper (Alice Cooper)
Is it because of his drummer (Eric Singer)
A certain Eric Singer (just said it)
Who refuses to be a tattooer (his fans are scary)*
My wife hates Alice Cooper (Alice Cooper)
Is it because of the Sylmaster (accusator)
Whose Killer cd I sold (get over it)
To the Jukebox guy by mistake (it was Laferrière)**
My wife hates Vincent Furnier (Vincent Furnier)
The only one of us by the way
To disdain this performer
Of superior quality
*refering to what recently happened in Ottawa when that guy in front of us wanted Eric Singer to tattoo his name with his own kit...
**true story... my friend accidentally put Killer in my pile of used cds to sell

Only my last 2 "albums" are there, but I have 3 more I have yet to upload. I'm no professional, I just make silly songs for/about me and my buddies. Cheap electric guitar and an old synth, that's all I need!
I wrote a few songs "inspired" by Alice. One from 2004 called "Des peurs" (Scary stories) is a play on "Deeper" from Dragontown. In another one ("Le con-positeur" / The composer") from the same year, one line claims my songwriting is better than Alice's (NOT!).
I've only recorded one song in english so far. It's about a mountain bike incident between my friend and a Willem Dafoe lookalike when they were freeriding a few years ago on the North Shore (Vancouver, BC) . It goes like this:
FREETARD
Hello
It's me Dafoe
On my way down
You slow me down
You're f*cking slow
On your Norco
Get the f*ck out my way
Because I am a freetard
A stupid freetard
A dumbass freetard
Yes I am
Wish me to break my Banshee
To explode my Marzocchi
To rip open my knee
To get impaled on a tree
Because I am a freetard
A stupid freetard
A dumbass freetard
Yes I am

My ex wife hated Alice Cooper
She had to go!
Have taken my new wife to see the Coop live a few times, she loved the show.
And the moral of this story is
Alice is for life, you can change your wife!

They showed his concert from Ronnie Scott's on the BBC recently, no one plays like him - his style is so original the sounds he gets out of that thing are from another planet.
I was fortunate enough to see Beck, Page and Clapton all on the same stage once, though that night Jimmy Page stole the show for me, his rock version of Chopin's E minor prelude that was used in the Deathwish 2 film is something else.
