My short but to-the-point album review!

Post by aliceclone12 » Sun Aug 17, 2008 8:57 pm

K, basically i'll say the tracks rate them then one sentence, simple but effective!

I know where you live - 4/10 Riff is ok, addictive in a weird way, lyrics are poor, not a standout track.

Vengeance is mine - 6/10 This could be a 8 or 9 but the lyrics and solo let it down, like many other tracks on this album.

Wake the dead - 4/10 Again like 'i know where you live' basically the same problem.

Catch me if you can - 5/10 Weak, when the chorus comes i feel even worse...

(In Touch With) Your Feminine Side - 3/10 Just not alice, it isn't metal just cheesey rock, bad bad song.

Wrapped in silk - 5/10 Maybe better rating if the lyrics were better but the tune isn't too bad.

Killed by love - 2/10 The worst track on the album, awful ballad with awful lyrics, another dissapointment.

I'm hungry - 4/10 Bland, said it all in one word.

The one that got away - 5/10 It would be 4/10 but i love the first line.

Salvation - 7/10 Just made it to 7/10 having a great solo, and just good song writing.

I am the spider - 8/10 a very good track the outstanding track on the album, with a great twist in the epilogue.

Album as a whole - 4/10 Concept is a good idea but most of the tracks are bad lyrics and bad tune, not like alice...

That's it i warned it to be short lol

I give the album a 6/10...because IT is just what Alice needed to stay Mainstream.
So I have to say...Good Effort....and I like most of the songs...but not all. :(
Good review Aliceclone12.

strange case

Post by Mr. Skull » Wed Aug 20, 2008 11:42 am

The fact is that when you start reviewing this album song by song your rates are a little bit on the low site but not that much..
But then the strange thing is that I keep playing and playing this album more then anything else.
So I would like to add my rating for the total album 8/10,

I personally liked the album the first time I heard it and it's grown on me even more over the last month or so. And I've listened to bits of it every day since I got my hands on it. Complete winner in my books.

It sounds like AC12 and Daytripper think Alice is following other people's footsteps.... ::((:

The great thing about Alice Cooper is that he will do the very thing that will upset everyone....remember STAND? I love that song because it reminds me of other songs that "don't fit in that everyone complains about"

let's start with PFY....then go through every album. There is always 1 or 2 certain songs that make you think Alice has lost his mind because he did that song.

That's the point! Alice has lost his mind...and that keeps him ahead of the trend, not behind.

Mainstream ...is the here and now.
So many people don't even know he is still out there. Many haven't heard of him in years and think he has retired. This album put him back on the charts, and now many realize he is still out there and recording and touring. And I love the album more each day

I don't get that at all from their posts. They don't like things on the album, that I can see, but following in other people's footsteps... sorry, don't see that inference in their posts. The closest thing I can see is the mainstream reference, but that's a big stretch to say he's following other people's footsteps.

Yes, Daytripper said that [ACAS] was just what [Alice] needed to stay mainstream....which suggests that Alice is trying to copy others....

I would disagree....

Alice changes with the times...and remains Alice. His music has always been exciting and somewhat familiar with whats hot now. The big Alice difference are the lyrics. All albums cant sound like Welcome To My Nightmare, or he would only please hard core fans. He has keep the Alice effect and kept with the music flow.

To me Alice has never failed....but to the general public there are times when he is just an unmentionable. He needed to make a big splash with this one, Im very happy with the results. Alice needs radio play...and I think this album is gettin some of that.

Alice is the inventor...Not the copycat.
