I've heard that it can. And that you have to really brace yourself if you feel a sneeze coming!Feezle-Nuts wrote:I've never had a broken rib. Wouldn't it make it painful to breathe?

Gallows is still being used. It does hurt a lot, and there was talk of hanging Calico instead. But...nope...on goes the show, with the man himself in the noose!Jumping Jack wrote:Has he gone back to the guillotine? Seems like the gallows might not be good for broken ribs.

Thanks for the info.
When we met with Coop last fall on the bus he spoke of Tiger Woods with great admiration. No doubt he is well aware of Tiger's US Open win with stress fractures and torn ligaments. Coop has every bit the same determination. I do hope he follows Tiger's example and limits his practice time until he is healed. Sitting around hotels healing up must be a nightmare though, LOL!

I really think he should do away with the execution for this tour. How important is it really? The stage show right now isn't one cohesive storyline, so I think he could get away without it.
That would at least give him time to heal and not compromise next year's tour.
I wonder if the straight jacket gives him any trouble?

To answer a couple of questions above - I have had all the ribs on my left side sprung - not broken bone, but cracked cartilage and racked-up ligaments - and I can tell you it HURTS LIKE HELL! Your best bet is to sleep sitting up, because the strain against your ribs when you go from horizontal to vertical is a lot more than you think. Raising yourself upright to get out of bed is a lot like getting slammed with a sledge hammer in the side. Out of consideration for the more sensitive readers here, I will not describe the sensation of coughing or sneezing, nor will I repeat the kind of language it inspires when you do.

That's exactly what my friend did. There are lots of things we take for granted when everything is fine.WeirdKat wrote:and I can tell you it HURTS LIKE HELL! When I have my "monthly belly aches" and I have to turn over in bed to get up, it feels like I am ripping my muscles down there, sometimes I need several minutes to get up. Thankfully it's not always that bad.

I'd love to see the gallows, having never seen it live, but definitely not at the expense of someone's health. To see the execution go the wayside to allow for better healing wouldn't bother me in the end. Maybe the execution songs would be replaced by something else.Feezle-Nuts wrote:I really think he should do away with the execution for this tour. How important is it really?
But then again, Alice could kill someone else, as mentioned above.
If I may put forward a slice of personal colostomy...

How about if the real Alice dragged someone dressed like Alice (black wig, the makeup and a tophat) to the gallows? Just before he hung the other "Alice", he could pull off the black wig and top hat and reveal the blonde woman underneath (Calico). Then he could hang the imposter who had the audacity to impersonate him.NotSoPerfect wrote:I wouldn't be surprised if they play that one by ear, since it's already been discussed--hanging Calico.
