There are even more versions than that!Maurice wrote:Ha ha ha! Well done steven for a thorough bit of research!
I never realised it was so popular!
Liked the Stray Cats version some of that pure rock n roll has really got something.
When the Stray Cats burst onto the scene with Stray Cat Strut it had a touch of Gutter Cat about it I thought all those meooows!
Alice on Blue Turk I thought was a bit rock n roll with a jazz influence which some rock n rollers like the Stray Cats have.
Lead guitar on Social Debris. Album on iTunes, Amazon & Spotify, title track featured on TV
Now you mention that (about the 'Stray Cat Strut' 'meeaaoow'), I may well have thought the self same thing at the time..........................steven_crayn wrote:There are even more versions than that!Maurice wrote:Ha ha ha! Well done steven for a thorough bit of research!

When life becomes more real than children's games
Or we've become too old to play them
My God.
Or we've become too old to play them
My God.

From Look At You Over There, Ripping The Sawdust From My Teddybear...
"On Monday morning putting back yakity yak"
Here's a lyric I initially found strange, but I've come around to it over time. Lately whenever I listen to this song, I sing along to this little bit in my best Ethel Merman voice. Seriously. Is something wrong with me? I mean aside from the usual stuff.

If I may put forward a slice of personal colostomy...

The AC song that I've always disliked by far the most is "I Never wrote those Songs". That album came out when Alice was changing his image and saying in interviews that he was tired of being Alice. So that song sounded like Alice Cooper was apologizing for being.... Alice Cooper! Not fun at all. Just depressing. Definitely Alice's worst song ever, in my opinion. And I even loved the song "No More Love at your Convenience" as I actually think it's catchy and fun.

I just find Deeper very slow, kinda lumbering along on low batteries. Maybe that's what its purpose is, but coming off Triggerman (which as a side note would make a good addition to the ACAS theme on stage in my opinion) it leaves the strong opening unsupported. It recovers with Dragontown and Sex, Death And Money right after though. Deeper could have sounded better to me if it was placed elsewhere on the album. But I ain't a mixologist, so I'll work with what I have.
