I guess I am an idiot. Shorter set and higher price makes this a bad deal. No interest in seeing the other acts.

Doesn't make you an idiot, but for those of us who also love Deep Purple, it is worth it to get two of our favorites even if the set is truncated a few minutes. It's definitely not worth going if you are just an Alice fan though, and I don't think anybody would disagree.

Indeed. This is almost certainly the last chance to see these guys all at once. So, maybe you're not an idiot - but I would feel like one if I passed up on this opportunity. Glad we're in!

You could skip the tour, he still has a few more in him.

I am going to see the tour, because Deep Purple have announced that they will be winding down their touring after this year. They have said that they will play shows, but they do not plan to go out on extensive, full-fledged tours anymore, so I don't want to miss the chance to see them while I can. It is a great bonus for me that Alice will be playing also.

Well what did you expect? He's given a limited set time since it's a Co-headlining tour you know? Maybe it will be altered a little bit, like 1 other new song might get added that would probably mean for definitely an old song to be dropped for sure. I could see Woman of mass distraction being dropped for another new song, personally it doesn't do anything for me.

Expected Dwight fry and not a pointless Nita solo and extended halo of flies instrumental in such a limited set time thats for sure.

And yeah women of mass you would think would be one of the fist to go on a shortened set

Nita's solo is less then 2 mins and serves as an intro to 'Poison'. It doesn`t tale the place of another song and probably also serves to cover for a costume change.
I agree on dropping Halo in short setlists though. Could have three other songs in that slot.

I wonder exactly how long his set time is for these shows. From what I can find, DP is playing more songs from inFinite (4) than any of their other albums. If Edgar Winter is sticking to their excellent, fat-free, 5-song set of late, they may be the biggest bang for the buck. Don't shoot me, I'm not the piano player.

He basically dropped everything worth seeing other than Paranoiac Personality. All I wanted was The World Needs Guts :(

My sons saw him last October and said that was the best song of the night.

Not a surprise. Too bad I just bought Wacken tickets for 2018. Should have gone this year.

I think Alice has always been his own worst enemy when it comes to his career. Since Brutal Planet he hasn't really tried anything new when it comes to his setlist or stage shows. He seems to think everyone only goes to the show to hear the hits, and at this point that's pretty accurate. If he's happy and fans are happy with him being a nostalgic act that's fine, I just think he has a lot more to offer.

If he would have continued playing newer songs instead of the safe hits and done something more to evolve the stage production more, maybe it wouldn't only be mostly the old fans that wanna see him, buy the albums etc... Most bands create a whole new look and feel to their tours after they release a new album, but Alice pretty much does the exact same thing year after year with almost no change in the setlist or stage show. So in that case why would anyone other than the people going for the nostalgic act bother going ?

That sums it up pretty well.

For me he could drop brutal planet as an opening song : too long to maintain the attention imo, certainly for people not familiar with BP.
I like the song buh not to start a gig .
Sidenote:in the last Dp cd there is also an interesting dvd showing how it al works
Bob ezrin in it too.
you really wouldn't understand..

While the setlist was generally the normal songs the 'Theater Of Death' stage production featured lots of new things, from the opening shadows on the curtain to the silhouette screen, the 3D logo and other stuff. I would say THAT was the last new production. Since then it's been mainly rehashed older theatrics.
