Re: Spend Your Night With Alice Cooper Tour!
I remember being really excited for the NMMNG tour because that had a lot of songs that hadn't been played in years. Hey Stoopid hadn't been played since the 90s. You had Clones, Halo, Brutal Planet and the full version of Black Widow.
I'm excited to see Public Animal and Long way to go, but I just wish there was more variety in the setlist. I will still be there, front row though because Alice always puts on an amazing show.
I've always wanted to see Sunset Babies played. Surprised that hasn't been played very much.

That was a weird one. We expected it to be in the encore, with Calico playing the 'Paris' part (they use 'Wish I was born in Beverly Hills' instead), but it was played earlier in the set. The strange thing was at the shows I saw it went down VERY well. It was surprising when it was dropped.Desperado1990 wrote: I've always wanted to see Sunset Babies played. Yeah, I always thought that would work well live. Never saw it myself as I didn't get into Coops music until 2007.

For 'disappointeds', the best thing to do is vote with your wallet: don't buy a ticket.
Exactly, though no doubt some still get in free. To be honest I wouldnt even go in free. The sheer lack of imagination is the thing that is the most painful to watch.

Yeah, SUnset Babies was a great song.... Is it my idea or the "newest" song that is on the current setlist is Feed my Frankenstein? Which is only there because of FrankenAlice ...

The worst part is that with the current band, they could rework a lot of songs in order to make them sound great live

True. I don't really understand why he needs to play 4 covers on this tour when he has another band and another tour for that.

Its the easy way out and the casual fans know the songs.

Re the reaction of casual fans to the covers, I know plenty of people who weren't big fans and went to see Alice at the Raise The Dead Halloween show in Edinburgh 2012. Every one of them was unimpressed by the covers and I was greeted with many sarcastic comments regarding their inclusion in the set. I obviously defended the show and pointed out that it was unusual for him to do other people's songs.
I would never have believed that four years on we'd still be getting this, especially considering he's actively touring a covers band at the same time.

How this is shocking to anyone is beyond me.

Four covers in the setlist is extremley disappointing, especially when we can get our fill of Alice doing covers during the HV set.
Who is picking this setlist these days and thinks this is a good idea? Geeze.

Re: Spend Your Night With Alice Cooper Tour!
Like others, I was disappointed at covers again. But I usually drag somebody along who isn't acquainted with Alice much, and hearing familiar songs improves the experience for folks like that.
I'm glad when my companion enjoys the show. I want them to walk away thinking they had a good time. And I want them to pass along a good word around the water cooler, or maybe pull some tracks off iTunes, maybe consider another show in the future or recommend it to their friends.
As for the setlist... I'll be delighted to hear Public Animal #9 - one of my favorites - and I haven't heard Cold Ethyl live, so I'll be glad about that, too. I'm always happy to see Is It My Body in the set, and for the sake of whoever I drag along I'm glad for Only Women Bleed.
Would rather not have Guilty in there, but I don't expect a setlist to suit me perfectly.
I am glad to get to see Alice at least one more time.

I've only seen Guilty performed once so I'm hoping he keeps it in there as it's one of my favourites. On the TOD tour he dropped about 7 songs on the 2nd or 3rd leg and that was one of them.

Re: Spend Your Night With Alice Cooper Tour!
Was going to get tickets for a few shows this tour, lucky I didn't complete waste of time traveling for a set as bland as that one. It's like Alice just doesn't care about the tons of other classics he could play and just slaps together the easy option and heads back out.

I Wonder how are these setlists selected...
Re: Spend Your Night With Alice Cooper Tour!
Anyone getting the VIP/meet and greet with Alice? If so, and you've got some major balls, someone should ask him about this. He's gotta know how dumb this is, right?
