Solo shows- any changes?

Post by Sparticus » Tue Nov 25, 2014 7:08 am

Hello sickthings,

Flying out to Las Vegas tomorrow to see the Coop (first time since 2009). Wondering if maybe we will get any small changes to the setlist, or if we will see the standard set from the RTD tour. Anyone going to Stockton that can report back?? Can't wait to see the master again.

Las Vegas review-

Great show! Was great to see Alice again, and amazed with the energy and show that he can still put on at his age. Took one of my friends with me who hasn't seen Alice before- he was very inpressed.

Few small things-

Heard someone ask if that was Vince Neil in the crowd before the show and looked over and sure enough he was sitting up in a box seat. Vince joined the stage for Schools Out at the end- and seemed intoxicated/wasn't sure of the words. Not surprising.

Alice had bandaging on his left arm.. Wondering if he knicked himself with the sword in Stockton?

Was pleased overall with the show and set. Caffeine and I'll Bite Your Face Off were the two I was least looking forward to and they work better live than the studio versions. Man Behind The Mask was great. The Raise the Dead portion worked better than I expected as well and was a really nice change of pace.

Close but no cigar on catching the cane once again!

Love that Coop gives the real fans up close seats, but that often means you see the cane fly over your head. Play the odds, 4-5 rows back, 10-15 seats off center to Coop's right hand side.

Also flew out to see the Vegas show, and then the California one 2 nights later. It was a great show wasn't it? Was in the middle, second row. Most of the canes flew over my head too, but the last one was just coming down towards me, when a guy who had just rushed the stage from way back, leaned backwards and snatched it out of my reach. Grrrrrrrrr. And in California, the guy next to me caught one. Although it was my friend who came with me so I don't mind so much
Sparticus, (Stan, is that you?)If not, did you go out to the bar afterwards in the Palms? The band and crew (and us) were propping it up til 4 in the morning......what a brilliant night that was :alice:

Nope...not Stan...but I was sitting at one of the bars at the Palms before the show (one of the young guys) and I think I saw you chatting with one of the band members. Was the guy you were with the one who came into the show with the Alice getup? Guess I should have said hello!!

Jumping Jack is right on with the cane destination- we were in row 5 and I missed the first one by 3 people to my left. Also had one of Nita's picks bounce right off my fingertips ::((:

Ah - yes, the guy dressed as Alice is my mate Steve. Aww. sorry we never met up! I was lucky enough to get one of Nita's picks and also one of Tommy's. And somebody behind me gave me some beads. Also got a few dollar bills - did you get anything?

Awesome glad you got some gear! Nothing for me this time, I've done pretty well in the past with bills, picks, balloons, and setlists.

Yeah I've done pretty well too over the years, a setlist, picks, bills, etc, and I have a Halloween balloon complete with splattered blood - had to let it down to get it through my front door! I actually do have a cane, but it was given to me by a friend. I would love to catch one!! Got 2 whips, too

Geeze,
All I've managed to do is touch the balloon on the way by, I guess I just have to get to more shows! :alice:
