two deaths, one new special effect

Post by unfinished sweet » Fri May 17, 2013 3:11 pm

If you read the whopperjaw article listed on the homepage Alice says that he is adding a new special effect and he dies twice during this tour. It's a big chunk of the last raise the dead tour with some from an older tour. He doesn't say exactly what. Sounds exciting!

He mentioned the guillotine will be back again.
"I doubt if they’ve ever seen me do the guillotine. I will throw that in because it works really well with the show."

This makes me more excited about seeing the show! I'm taking a friend who has never seen Alice and I was a little disappointed that they weren't going to get to see him executed. So 2 deaths sounds awesome, I don't even mind if one is the guillotine despite seeing it a ton of times. I hope the new theatrical effect is a nice add in!

Just bought Orchestra tickets for the Beacon Theater in NYC based on it not being entirely like the last raise the dead tour (thank goodness).

This really is exciting! :) Other than the guillotine, I wonder what execution will be used. :bam:

He says "2 deaths", not two executions. So I'm guessing that the other death is the one already in the "Raise The Dead" show.

Hope he keeps He's Back in the setlist...added it the second night of the tour and we saw the opening night. Would give just about anything to hear He's Back live!

The ''Deaths'' are always executions...

It could be hanging, electric chair, something new he has never done, the possibilities are endless.

In all likelihood, the death will be the one already in the RTD show where he gets electrocuted on that big contraption they spent money building and most likely want to get their money's worth out of.

Alice did make a point to say "I won’t give up the new special effects that we have in the show."

Probably correct, however, if is is 'new',could be the aborted sawing from ToD.

We heard all these additions from Alice before the tour started last year with the show in 3 sections, nightmare act, roumer of the magic screen back? etc ... and didnt end up resulting in much.

my guess of the 'deaths' will be the guillotine and the already in use electrocuted during FMF.

Look forward to what the new special effect will be tho, could be a nice touch to a tour thats lacking in my opinion. Set will stay the same I think with maybe one or 2 changes ... will he still do 4 covers during the manson run? who knows.

Ha ha ha, I feel the same way. The 17 July Beacon Theatre gig seems so long off.

I don't have to wait quite as long. As of right now, I'm heading to the shows on June 30, and July 2, 10, 11, 14, and 15. :alice:

The two deaths Alice refers to are the Frankenstein death from last years tour, and he's adding an old classic for the Manson shows. I won't say for sure which one it is.

There is no "Raise The Dead" section for the Manson shows because of the slightly shorter set time, but the "Raise The Dead" show will continue after the Manson shows wrap up. Unsure about the second death, that may stay afterwards or it may not.

Alice is very excited about getting back on the road! He's been sharpening his knives.
