Chances of meeting Alice without VIP purchase!

Post by magicchiz » Fri May 03, 2013 12:56 am

Well any advice on getting to meet Alice without purchasing the VIP. Yes there is a package being sold for the show I am going to. I would just purchase one if I wasn't going with 3 other people and don't want them to feel left out etc. The show is at a Casino. I have been a long time fan and even was on and talked to Brian Nelson when the lists just started of stuff he dealt with. Ohhhh the 90's. To go back in time. Alas I never have meet Alice and would love to just once. I guess that with the VIPs it is going to be hard to get a chance to just meet him get a autograph and a picture. I am not a freaked out fan and would love to tell him how much his sobriety has influenced my own. Anyway any suggestions. Don't want to also impose on him or anyone, and come off like a crazed fan.
Thanks for the suggestions.
John

Meeting Alice is not as difficult as it might seem. There are the VIP packages of course which is really the only guaranteed way to meet him. But being that it's a Casino there's a good chance he'll be staying at the hotel in the casino. Coop plays slots, he goes out to shop, he golfs. He's an active guy, so if you're paying attention you might catch him.

if it's the show in Cinci. Last time he played here. He was spotted in Kenwood Mall, and an art gallery on Ludlow with the crew and all that time. The gallery had a sign museum.
Also this show is on a Sunday. I have read he visits churches on Sundays at times. On Tour. Maybe like a more laid back one like Vineyard or Crossroads(a few celebs have visited here).
Could be wrong though.

While bumping into Alice at the shops/mall is perfectly reasonable , I'm not so sure staking out churches is a particularly polite thing to do.

I totally agree, in fact I was offered to be taken to the church that Alice and his family use when I was in Arizona for the 2010 pudding show, which I declined. He and his family deserve their own space and freedom to exist like the rest of us.

Agreed , those places do have atriums for socializing though. If I saw him in my churche's atrium getting a coke or coffee I'd just say hi and keep walking. Last time I saw him there was a gaggle of geeks with cell phones tracking him all over downtown cinci, crazy. We saw a few as we walked upon Taft Theater from eating at the Wendy's around the corner.
A guy I know is the maintainence man at the art gallery.

As much as he seems to enjoy being a rock star, I think he should be given some space - though I can't say I've not been hoping to meet him and others when they were in town.

Alice did not have two kids at this point, and no kids for most of it. Calico was born in '81.

He was borrowing them back then, kind of like he does with the snakes.

Makes sense. Something like kids, you want to try before you "buy." You know, just in case.
