Alice has always been saying that he has a full arsenal of songs and that's what he enjoys..he has to pick songs from his huge variety. But this time he chose to sing cover 6 songs , why ?He could pay the same tribute to those guys with 4 songs and do 2 SHOCKING additions to his setlist from his own songs , to make his fans shocked and happy.2 shocking additions could make the tour brilliant for me..but he refuses...

And 6 covers? No execution?
I'm glad Dwighty Fry is back though... But still... whut...? I am confused. Is this some kind of new way to 'shock' us fans?
The time for a W2MN was last year when it came out. I love the Coop but his tours have been stuck in the greatest hits mode for too long. Rather see a tour promoting a album with a few gems from the past laced in with new stuff instead of 98% old stuff with one or maybe 2 songs off the newest.

Adding House of Fire is cool, but otherwise the songlist is the same old, same old. It almost sounds like a bare bones show overall with maybe a little more production. I withheld my comments when I heard about the covers section of the show. This is just my opinion and I think we all admire and respect the Coop, but I have no desire to hear basically the same setlist again and then six cover tunes. To me it's like the time Ozzy did his "Under Cover" album, it was awful. I know this post sounds negative and that is not my intention, but to say I am disapppointed would be an understatement. I will be skipping this tour.

True that, but I really thought it was going to happen this time. Just like almost everybody else here.

And yes, this.

Oh and forgive me for saying this, but somehow it did cross my mind... Maybe Alice just simply can't do the new stuff live anymore? Costs too much energy, blah blah... Don't know. Don't really believe in that anyway, but like I said, it did cross my mind.

(Though, sounds like it wasn't exactly an execution per se, just getting electrocuted during FMF, and then FrankenAlice came out. RI can clarify.)
The electrocution is Alice's worst death. He just sits in the chair while the lights flash lol

Given the Ezrin production and variety of styles and instruments on W2MN, I suspect most of the songs would be difficult to pull off live. It took several shows for "Caffeine" to seem comfortable for them---and it's one of the rock songs on W2MN.

Good point. Which is one reason why I have problems with heavy handed production in the studio. Things can get complicated and too cute. Especially for a rock band. There is so much digital technology in recording now days I think the hard part is NOT to use it all. Very, very difficult to re produce things live on the stage. You get 2 different versions of the song unless you hire extra musicians for a show or add a whole lot of extra taping for a show.

Maybe this tour really does end in December 2012 and he'll come back with a new show/album around June 2013 before that freakin' boat cruise sh*t.

this is supposed to be the full setlist. It's a shame there arn't more Nightmare 2 songs but it's great to see Hello Hooray and House Of Fire in the set. If he was going to cover The Who I wish he'd have picked Won't get fooled again and Pinball wizard but oh well lol. Not an amazing setlist imo but there are some great songs in there. I'm very excited.
Seems great! Love the fact that there are pyros. Good setlist. Remember that this concert is called ''Raised the Dead'', so, it's normal that they are not too many songs from Nightmare 2. It means that we can expect a full Welcome 2 my nightmare concert, in the future, maybe a full production with the Welcome to my nightmare original.

a new addition that most fans had been looking forward to and 1 more track from W2MN and as for 6 covers ?,ok to pay tribute to the 4 longer with us and play 4 tracks maybe but not 6,the other 2 tracks could of been something from the new album or actually taken from the facebook poll (which now seems to have been a waste of time), only plus side is no OWB or ballad as such. Will reserve any more comments until I see the shows for myself next weekend.
House of Fire is great. Too bad there is no ballad... ::((: oh well...

I have seen Alice 32 times and Cardiff will be my 33rd time on Wednesday but i have to agree with what "somewhere in aukland "said.Im a little worried the way the last couple of tours and song selections have went.Havent been too im pressed with the last few albums but thought wtmn2 was a great return to the Alice i love and a great chance to create a (almost)totally new stage show.So quite dissapointed if this is how this tour is going to be.I would love to know the reason(if there is one) why a full nightmare tour (1+2)was not done/created.As for the cover songs, like most people i would much rather here Alice songs that are rarely if ever played.Jeez cant believe im writing this as i normally just keep my thoughts and feelings to myself.Alice is a hero to me, been a fan for 31 years now but if im honest and there's another tour after this one withlittle difference,i may decide to give it a miss and i never thought id say that, ever

How can it be "normal" when there has never been a "raise the dead" tour before?!?

It means nothing of the sort.

I know it was the 1st show, but maybe next week in the UK will have a different setlist, but doubt it.

Unable to afford tickets to go next week, but if these songs are to be played, then i am happy to miss him, and never thought i would say that.

Did think Elected would be played, with it being election year.
Anything I say or write is my own personal opinion, no matter who agrees or disagrees with me.

Geez, people. If there wasn't an entire ocean in the way, I'd offer to take some of your tickets off your hands.

I've never seen Hello Hooray or House of Fire live, and think they'll be great. Also, psyched to see The Congregation. However, I have no dates that I can make right now, so I have to wait until next spring/summer...and we'll see what's up then.

oh well, i can rest easy about missing the tour now. i was really hoping there'd be a W2MN show when the album came out, i thought it was just about the best Coop album ever. though he always kicks ar$e on stage, this set list is disappointing to me : if he wanted to honour his mates, why not put a bunch of songs on a ltd edn Hallowe'en CD "B side"?
here's hoping 2014 will be back to normal.

I had really started to build up for this but this has kind of deflated my balloon. I can't believe caffeine has been dropped, it's my fav off the album, and only two off the latest album. Yip no mid eighties, clone's been dropped, No welcome section. so more or less the same setlist as the last ten years, just drop some songs and put in some covers. Ah well At least my boy's up for the gig so we'll have a laugh at least.

If there was a Medley of songs to pay tribute lasting 10 minutes and then 4 more songs from W2MN I would be happy. But there is totally nothing exciting about that set.

What happened to this so called act 2 combining songs from both Nightmare albums?

What happened to Alice saying there will be 4 or 5 songs from the new album played? No Run away Train? I am Made Of You?

Is the new execution he was talking about bringing back the old electric chair?

Is the glam section to open the show just some pyro sparks and House Of Fire?

I really thought Alice had more vision and inspiration than that, Hope this tour doesnt last 18 months and we have to wait until 2014 for a new album and tour theme.
