urgent meet and greet question
Hi everyone, a friend of mine who is touring with Damon and Thin Liszt just messaged me to say he's got me a meet and greet with Alice for tonights Toronto show. I can't get through to him by phone so was just wondering whether I need to get to the venue earlier? Do these happen before or after the show? Any advice would be much appreciated....I'm very excited!

Re: urgent meet and greet question
They're all after the show as far as I know.
Re: urgent meet and greet question
The organisation could depends of the place.
Indeed, it happens after the show (a few minutes after only).
You just must to come to the place 10 minutes before the doors open to take the pass wich will be deliver to all the VIPs. Then you can enter a few minutes before the rest of the audience.
At the end of the show, you just have to wait in front of the stage. The team will take you backstage.
That's all !

Go to the box office about an hour before the doors open and ask if there is anything in your name from AC management. It would probably come as some sort of after show pass.. From there talk to Toby after the show.. Have fun!

Re: urgent meet and greet question
Sometimes they let you in the venue early, before everyone else so if it's all standing, you can get to the front easy. And when you pick up your pass at the box office, there's usually a note with it telling you where to go. Have a great time

Re: urgent meet and greet question
It doesn't sound like a paid meet and greet to me Cherrypie, so everything you said is true when you purchase one..
It isn't accurate when they are given to you.

ah ok, didn't realise that. Although I had one given to me once and that had a note with it too.

I was just wandering if your sat up stirs on the balcony how do you get down to the front of the stage at the end of the show for the meet and greet because you know what the security is like in the concerts they just want you out at the end as quick as possible and they may not let you come into the main floor from up stirs . has any one on here hade a balcony seat then done a meet and greet

Re: urgent meet and greet question
If you have the correct pass (either "paid for " laminate or other "cloth" pass) then getting to the designated area should not be a problem. At each venue the security supervisor is given a sheet which details the various different passes that they can expect to see - guest, VIP, all access, etc - and this should be covered in the pre-show briefing that the security teams generally have.
If the M n G is one of the ones sold via ac.com then you should also receive a note with the laminate that tells you where the meeting point is (as someone else has mentioned). Carrying this should also assist in getting you where you need to be.

Re: urgent meet and greet question
If you purchase the VIP package do they email you details before the meet and greet or do you just go to the box office on the day of the show?

Re: urgent meet and greet question
You get a standard order confirmation email and then you get details of where to go for the meet and greet in the envelope along with your VIP laminate when you collect it at the box office.

Re: urgent meet and greet question
Thanks for the info. Do you guys take items for Alice to sign? I would like to take a few cd covers but would like to know what a "fair" amount to take is. Wouldn't want him to think I was being greedy.

Re: urgent meet and greet question
Alice is generally happy to sign whatever you put in front of him. If the meet and greet is busy then you are usually asked to keep it to one or two items out of respect for other attendees.

Re: urgent meet and greet question
I took my scrapbook last year and he looked at every page. Luckily there were only a few of us so I don't think I held anybody up. Also got 3 album covers, a cd, dollar note, my jacket and a book from the Old School box set signed. If there had been lots of people I would've kept it to just my book and jacket.

Alice has said the more he signs the less they'll be worth on eBay, but Sparky's right about the respect factor. Cherrypie has the best philosophy; bring more than a few things to have signed and play it by ear.
If I may put forward a slice of personal colostomy...
Re: urgent meet and greet question
Thanks for all the help. Def something I wanna do.
Just one more question... As it's after the gig, what sort of time does the MnG finish? Just trying to plan my journey.

Re: urgent meet and greet question
Depends on lots of things--start of show time, how many people bought the MnG, how many people have other VIP passes--friends, family, radio winners, etc, as well as when/where the next gig is and when Alice has to be on the bus to get there.drgntwn99 wrote:Thanks for all the help. I went to the show on Friday, and it was an 8 PM start, so Alice went on right about 9 PM. I heard Toby tell Orianthi that bus call was at 11:45 PM. I think it ended up a few minutes later than that, but the VIP people came back out from meeting Alice about 30-40 minutes before that.
Schooooooooooooool's Ouuuuuuuuuuuuut. FOR. EVER!
