I got a pit ticket for the noblesville show. Chris (Along Came a Spider) let me know if you want to meet up pre or post show. I may still get a Dayton show tix, but still waiting on that, a little farther than I usually travel.

Yes Andy, I asked if anyone paid for an IM membership and got tickets. I have about 12 memberships to various bands just for ticket purchases. It is flexible ticket pricing scheme by LN and current way to milk $20-50 more per ticket for the better seats. VIP packages sold with premium seating is another way. Hold the best seats for VIPs, sell as many as possible at rediculous prices to the pigeons, and then dump the unsold. at regular pricing a few days before the show.

Anyway, I passed on $117 + $20 IM fan club + services fees for a 1 hour show in a not so great venue. Had Keri been sigend I probably would have paid up, but I will fish the public sale today and see what comes up. Given the pricing, the economy, and number of other great shows in the area in the next couple months including VH and Petty I am ready to pass if the best I can do is 20 rows back.

No problem at all. It wasn't clear (at least, not to me) since it had been over a week since anyone had mentioned it.

Yes. The market will always decide in a situation like this.

You are right Glen, but I didn't score an early tix, but I will be watching E-Bay and CL to see if I can score a close single seat. If so, I will head on over. Plus, would rather see a full show than just the slightly truncated one I am expecting before IM.

Nothing but back of the amphitheater.

Oh well, maybe next year.

I understand Kevin... hopefully you can locate a ticket as it will be a good to get together.

Why it would be disappointing? Two great bands. At least, he's not playing with Toto... Have nothing against the band, but... Toto... worst name ever for a Rock band. You imagine that... Alice and Toto... Yark!

Toto would be horrible, but then he could grab some of those guys and do a lot of FtI. Although I kept hoping for Neilsen to come out and do Serious with him when Alice was touring with CT and that never happened.

How do you feel about Alice opening for Iron Maiden?

Post by HeyAlice » Thu Apr 05, 2012 4:34 am

I got my tickets to see Iron Maiden and Alice Cooper this summer. Both are legendary artists only drawback is Alice will be doing a shorter less theatrical set. Best tour for the money IMHO this summer a lot better than the Kiss and Motley Crue tour.

Makes sense for Alice. He gets to play in front of big crowds and has the chance to convert many rock fans who would normally not go and see him live. Also it is a great value double bill with 2 legendary rock acts playing together.

It's a really good double bill. But it would work much better (for Alice) in arena's instead of playing in sheds while it's still light outside

Great post...

...I'm interested to see how full the arena will be for Alice...but it will be a great double bill, that's for sure.

I guess everyone has forgotten that there is already an extensive thread on this.

"a shorter less theatrical set"

While I am sure it will be a shorter set, probably only cut out 2 or 3 songs. I really don't think it will be less theatrical, unless you are considering that some shows will be in daylight. I doubt there will be any limits on props or other types of restrictions for a typical "opening band" slot.

The No More Mr. nice Guy Tour was designed for the festivals last year. I would imagine the shows with Maiden will have the same theatrics.

You are all going to hate me for saying this, but I am not happy with this decision. Many levels of thought here, but suffice it to say that I think Alice is beyond that.

Alice should be out headlining.

Yeah I think some of the shows will be outdoors I too wonder how fans will be present when Alice hits the stage.
