Old show / New show

Post by jacknifejohnny » Fri Sep 16, 2011 12:39 am

Gotta say, after listening to the new album, there is no end of idea's Alice could put on stage for the new show, the mind boggles at the visuals that could be coming. Seriosly hope he plays all the album live, like with the 1st Nightmare album in "75", which i was lucky enough to see. Gotta give credit to Alice for still putting on amazing shows on the current tour, when he must be busting to put out his new songs on stage with new visuals. I can just see the Underture being played to start the new show and some old footage of the original Nightmare tour on the split screen, with Alice gradually getting older and older, before bursting through the screen to open up with.......what ????

I a made of you. he threw in a ballad to open the album out of left field (and boy did it work) i'd like to see him open the show similarly. its not a schmaltzy ballad, its pretty damn epic. it could work.

I wonder if he will start dropping in new songs before the end of the year? Caffeine would fit in as easily as I'll Bite Your Face Off IMHO.

Think that could happen, but in all honesty, i'd like him to keep the new songs under wrap as far as live performances go, just so we could have a completely new show next time around, all revolving round the new album.

I would wait and see if anyone from here posts a setlist. I know setlist.fm has been wrong fairly often.

Another good source is Metalsetlists, but it hasn't popped up there yet.

In the Rock Hard (french magazine) of september, Alice said there is a chance they'll play "Caffeine" on the second leg of the tour, but may be after several "classic" gig.

Caffeine fits because it rocks already. I do wonder if when the new songs are played live they will loose the pop special effects studio feel and rock a little harder in person?

I also wonder if Orianthi can make the transition from great technical player to an entertainer. Well written studio songs and cheesy props don't make a great show by themselves.

I'm guessing he won't yet add songs from W2NM besides what he already does. Saw him in CT (USA) in August and I'm going again to Albany (NY USA) Nov 30th, I'm guessing it will be the same set list (fine by me it was a great show). He has to save something "new" for his next tour, bet it will be called W2MN tour! I'll post back after the show and let you all know if he adds new songs. You'll all know by then I suppose :)

I would love to hear it, it is one of my favorites of the album! Between Feed My Frankenstein and Clones (We're All) it would fit well for me!
