Well I just booked my tickets for the show in Glasgow, and I can't wait.

What will make it even more special for me, is that it will be my son's first concert ever (he's 8 years old).

I do have a concern, though. I'm not bothered about him being younger, and I made enquiries last time AC was in Glasgow and was told there was no real age restriction in place, but I'm worried that he won't get a chance to see the show much if everyone stands up. We are in Row D in the Front Stalls.

Do you think there would be a bit of consideration for his size, and would people be accommodating to him somewhat?

I know the guys on here are respectful and considerate to all fans, but unfortunately, the whole audience won't be made up of these members - if it was, I wouldn't have any concerns at all!! lol

Just wondered what other folks experience has been regarding taking kids or seeing how kids are treated at the shows.

Had the same issues plenty of times over the years .....I'm in rowC long to the right - 32-35 I think - if we are close it won't be a problem as he can stand on our seats as long as you can see him - hope this helps ., but if Andre the Giant is in front of us , it won't really help .... Make sure you have him wear some of those squishy earplugs, it will be brutally loud on an 8 year olds ears there (:

I remember taking my son to see Kentucky band "My Morning Jacket" in a small club in Glasgow ........Everyone in the crowd was really struggling with the searing noise and despite being aware of it , the band played on......All of a sudden , the guitarist left the stage , came back a minute later, leaned into the crowd , and handed my son something ......at first I thought it might be plectrums , then drugs (?) .......He opened his hand ...."squishy earplugs" ........cool band!

ps..This is the same child who fell asleep during the Brutal Planet gig in Edinburgh .....We had filled him up with Piriton for his hayfever , and hadn't realised we had given him the drowsy version ........oops

I knew that Sick Things were all awesome!! Thanks a lot. My son is a big fan too - watches my DVDs regularly and is a bit annoyed that I saw him last time but didn't take him. You can imagine how he reacted when we told him we were standing next to the band backstage at Download!! lol

Looks like there is going to be a lot of us in the first few rows in Glasgow. We should get together for a drink before the gig!

Yeah you should, it all adds to the enjoyment.

It's a long drive from Manchester to Glasgow, plus the place is kinda isolated from the main town, though not by far.No idea what time we will all get there but open to suggestions and we can see.

The solid rock in Glasgow is always a good place for a pre gig meet up. Its about a 20 minute walk from the concert or the bar in the secc is always open a few hours before gigs anyway.

I don't think it would be appropriate for me to take my son to a pub in Glasgow, lol, but I am certainly open to meeting folks outside (and inside) the venue.

We will be the folk with a miniature Alice Cooper (my son wants to dress up, and it's Halloween, so why the hell not?)

You will be alright mate we are row b 26 to 28 i think and we are short arses and if we can help the kid no problem. Last time the first so many rows got to the stage so he will probably get pick of seats to stand on in the middle.

i'm row B so see you all there and in a bar, i hear they like a drink in Glasgow so I should be at home

I can't remember if there is a box office at the auditorium itself, or do we have to go into the main SECC? Anyone know?
