ALICE COOPER To Appear On The Tonight Show With Jay Leno; New Line-Up To Be Unveiled Next Week
Saturday, March 05, 2011
According to the Late Night TV Page, shock rock legend ALICE COOPER will be guest on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno on Friday, March 18th. The Tonight Show airs on NBC TV at 11:35 EST; check local listings for details.
The ALICE COOPER BAND - featuring Alice Cooper (vocals) Neal Smith (drums), Michael Bruce (rhythm guitar), Dennis Dunaway (bass) and Steve Hunter (guitars) filling in for the late Glen Buxton - will perform together at their Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony on March 14th in New York City, and again in Los Angeles on April 20th at the Revolver Golden God Awards. No other appearances together are planned at this time. Alice Cooper's current line-up will be officially announced next week.
As previously reported, Cooper recently completed work on his new album, Welcome II My Nightmare. According to BW&BK sources the sequel to the 1975 classic Welcome To My Nightmare will be released in September via Bigger Picture records.
According to a recent interview with Billboard.com, Cooper and producer Bob Ezrin (PINK FLOYD, KISS) came up with 13 songs, including the ballads 'I Am Made Of You' and 'Something To Remember Me By'. Cooper also cut three new songs with original band-mates Dennis Dunaway (bass), Neal Smith (drums) and Michael Bruce (guitar).
Ezrin worked with the Alice Cooper Band during their glory years including producing records like the original Welcome To My Nightmare, Billion Dollar Babies (1973), School's Out (1972) and Love It To Death (1971).
BraveWords.com spoke with original Alice Cooper Band drummer Neal Smith recently about the new collaboration with Ezrin and the band being nominated into the Rock N’ Roll Hall Of Fame.
"I just know that everything, right now, with everybody is very positive," says Smith. "When we’re all together, it’s exactly like the old days."

So looks like its just going to be new faces?...but then again!!!Alice Cooper's current line-up will be officially announced next week.

Re: New Line-Up To Be Unveiled Next Week
Wow, the timing of this strikes me as extremely odd being only 4 days after the Rock Hall induction.
My question would be why? Why announce it like this when Alice has changed line-ups umpteen times without any sort of "unveiling" on national TV? When other ACG performances bookend this?
Could it possibly be a smokescreen where they announce that Alice is debuting a new line-up and then the curtain lifts and it's the ACG?

I don`t *think* they mean that Alice will announce the new line up on the Leno show.RemarkablyInsincere wrote: My question would be why? Why announce it like this when Alice has changed line-ups umpteen times without any sort of "unveiling" on national TV? When other ACG performances bookend this?

Ok, that makes more sense and I did read too much into it initially.Si wrote:I don`t *think* they mean that Alice will announce the new line up on the Leno show.RemarkablyInsincere wrote: My question would be why? So I'm guessing it'll be the ACG on Leno, as nothing else would make any sense considering they're inducted the same week.

It could also just be Alice solo as a guest. Though...with a band being inducted into the rock hall that very week, it would make sense to have them perform!

Yea, I can't see anyway it's not the ACG.NotSoPerfect wrote:It could also just be Alice solo as a guest. Though...with a band being inducted into the rock hall that very week, it would make sense to have them perform!
But I've been wrong before... just not often.

Re: New Line-Up To Be Unveiled Next Week
WOW!!!! You people sure do run with any (tiny) bit of information. The only thing I have read is that the original band will be present in LA when Alice gets some award. The "report" that starts this thread, says NOTHING other than Alice Cooper is going to be on Leno's show. It says nothing about ANY band being on it...it definitely does not say anything about announcing a new band. Anything added in response to that is only your speculation.

Re: New Line-Up To Be Unveiled Next Week
I think Bravewords intentionally worded that for confusion with the title being Alice on Leno show; to unveil new line-up next week. Yea, the semi-colon makes a difference if you don't read it quickly.GNDM wrote:WOW!!!! You people sure do run with any (tiny) bit of information. Second, I think it would be pretty strange if only Alice himself is on Leno the same week they're all inducted.

Re: New Line-Up To Be Unveiled Next Week
I have seen Alice appear on talkshows many times with no band at all. But instead of jumping to conclusions - why not wait and see. I am sure you will find out next weekend.Second, I think it would be pretty strange if only Alice himself is on Leno the same week they're all inducted.

Correct me if i am wrong, but where does it say that Alice is singing on Jay Leno?
He may be just there to talk, just an observation from me.

And so have I, but usually when he's promoting something and certainly not the same week he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.GNDM wrote:[/i]shows many times with no band at all. But instead of jumping to conclusions - why not wait and see. I am sure you will find out next weekend.
I don't think it's all that unreasonable to imagine it will be the ACG as certainly the reason to be on Leno is because of the induction.
