Tonight's show in Oshkosh, cancelled

So, in a rare occurrence, tonight's show in Oshkosh was canceled. Had LOTS of rain come through before will call/gates opened, so those of us waiting in line were thoroughly soaked before entering the concert area. There were to be 2 openers and then Alice. Well, we got 4 songs from opener #1, and then a big storm arrived, so we were evacuated to wait and see. And then, the show was canceled.

Though, if it had to happen, tonight was probably a good night. Alice had laryngitis last night, and his voice must have been killing him by the end of the show. Sure sounded like it was!

but yeah, maybe it's good that the show has been canceled, I mean.. because of Alice.

I usually loose my voice completely for a couple of days when I get larygitis. Used to suck when my income depended on it!

Nope, not yet. The only thing they said right away was that if we kept our wristbands, we could get in free tonight to see "Rusted Root." (Waterfest is an every Thursday event, and Alice was a special Wednesday concert to help celebrate Waterfest's 25th anniversary.)

Sorry to hear about your ordeal at the show. I've had a few of those types myself, but luckily never had a show outright cancelled. In Columbus a couple years ago, we had a major lightning storm roll through during the day while we waited in line and got soaked.

"Rusted Root" is a band from my hometown of Pittsburgh. They had one hit... not really most Alice fans cup of tea, though.

I hope Alice is OK for Dayton on Sunday. Maybe they should cancel all the shows in between now and then just to make sure....

Found a picture from just a few blocks away from the show. Rain started about 4 PM, and we were evacuated about 6:30 PM. My Dad and I left around 8 PM, and many of the streets downtown looked like this....or deeper.
