An Edmonton newspaper described Alice's portion of the tour to be a continuation of the Theatre Of Death tour. Not saying I'm surprised that it's this kind of tour, just wondering how Alice's stage time will be affected by hitting the stage first.

Here's a few items from Edmonton and Saskatoon newspapers, nothing exciting, just the usual tour announcements...

I wouldn't be surprised if they closed with a duet of School's Out. Even if Rob is the headliner, I bet top dollar they close together.

at least rob has been very open about the influence AC had on him and others..so think playing second fiddle as such ok as far as I can see...and more important presumably AC is happy..could close with hands of death..Alice has already had KISS above him in bill in Wellington I think so can't see any prob..AC has nil to prove..I would buy a ticket if in UK (unlikely IMO)

Rock 101 here is promoting it as an Alice show, with barely a mention of Rob. I suspect this is because they have Nights and they really don't play any Rob, being a Classic Rock station.

So...we know that Coop's going on before RZ, but....anyone heard about an opener? Not specifically who, but IF there will be another act before them? Or, is it possibly right into the main entertainment?

The only time I ever saw Alice not as THE headliner was when he was with the Scorpions for a show 2 summers ago, and there was another band opening.

We had DDT opening for Alice and the Scorps in '96.
Alice didn't have the usual props on the '96 tour, as he wanted to keep it scaled back, so an extra band performing at the beginning was not really cutting Alice's stage time down.

I'm almost hoping there won't be an opening act this time around as this may shorten Alice's portion of the show - don't think Rob Zombie will curtail his portion because it's his tour basically. Can't really see both Alice and Rob doing full-on hour and a half sets, plus having an opening band, plus the set-up of both Alice's and Rob's stage (which I would guess are prop laden and require more time to set up than lets say your average band).

Having said this... maybe three bands on the bill won't influence stage time at all. We'll see I suppose when the time comes.

Interestingly enough, when I saw Alice with the Scorpions, his set and props were not cut at all. I was pretty psyched about that.

I was also wondering about the setlist and stage while touring with Zombie. What I'm really interested in is how things will go at Rockfest since there will be 8 bands and Alice is going on THIRD to last.

I think Alice intended it to be a more 'raw, in your face', show in 1996 than what the Scorpions did with their set. I wonder if it had anything to do with his move to another record label at the time or if the scaling back was just a decision not related to anything. Could have been just a tour for the sake of touring reason.
