>play smaller venues to make it intimate

Let me get this straight - you want him to play in smaller venues and to smaller crowds, so he can make less money. You are a genius.

I know I am a genius when it comes to Alice Cooper....um, he was struggling a lot more in the 80's financially....oh, yeah, and when Trash came out, It pretty much secured him.

And the royalties from Schools Out and I'm Eighteen don't hurt either.

Oh, and he owns a restaurant, and makes commercials, and promotes Callaway.

Don't worry about Alice doing smaller venues. He will do just fine. I am sure his house is bigger than yours and in a better neighborhood, too.

>he was struggling a lot more in the 80's financially....

How do you know?

>oh, yeah, and when Trash came out, It pretty much secured him.

How do you know?

>And the royalties from Schools Out and I'm Eighteen don't hurt either.

What "royalties"? No - one buys records anymore, at least not in the way they once did. Do try and keep up.

>Oh, and he owns a restaurant, and makes commercials, and promotes Callaway.

So on that basis, you're saying Alice should deliberately do something that would mean he would play in smaller venues, just so that he does what you want, rather than what the majority of his audience might want.

>Don't worry about Alice doing smaller venues.

Don't tell me what to do.

> He will do just fine.

I'm so relieved.

>I am sure his house is bigger than yours and in a better neighborhood, too.

How do you know?

Not to mention the finances of the other 15 or 16 people or whatever that are part of the Alice Cooper tour. I'm sure if he can avoid paying out of pocket then they will do so at all costs (no pun intended.)

Yeah... that's not true. Sure record sales might not be what they used to be but people haven't quite cold turkey on them. And besides, if people buy the album or songs from say iTunes wouldn't Alice still get royalties for that?

Yeah... that's not true.

Actually, it is. Do some research. The number of CDs being sold (in the last ten years) is down ten per cent a year, approximately. I'm not saying they're not generating any revenue at all, just don't compare them with past figures in terms of the revenue that is generated.

>And besides, if people buy the album or songs from say iTunes wouldn't Alice still get royalties for that?

He probably does. However, I assume you know how much (or how little) that iTunes sells a single track for. Try dividing that sum among the artist, the owner of the song and the owner of the recording. In many cases, more (or as much) revenue is generated from the use of music in commercials, television, films and computer games.

Not to mention you only get .70 cents for the song (As in iTunes keeps like 30% of it.)

It can be unbelievable.

I'd like to see a mix of rarities and hits. Get Teenage Frankenstein in there. An opening slideshow to the title track from Dada.

I know this is an old thread, but I thought I'd bring it back because I know a lot of people are unhappy about the current setlist. The following is a setlist that I think would be fantastic but also realistic.

I've included most of the big hits, as well as some songs that don't get played anymore. Imo, this would be a great show. The reason I have included most of the big hits is because I know they will always be there lol.

Sex, Death And Money
Freedom
No More Mr Nice Guy
Raped And Freezing
I'm Eighteen
A Runaway Train
Be My Lover
Generation Landslide
Caught In A Dream (Plus Guitar Solo)
I'll Bite Your Face Off
Gimme
Former Lee Warmer
Welcome To My Nightmare
Cold Ethyl
Something To Remember Me By
I Love The Dead (Instrumental)
Go To Hell
Vengeance Is Mine
Hey Stoopid
Wind-Up Toy
Billion Dollar Babies
Under My Wheels
Long Way To Go

Encore:
Poison
School's Out
All Of My Life Was A Laugh And A Joke
And A Drink And A Smoke
And Then I Passed Out On The Floor

I think Alice should just dare to do a tour without the regular over played classics, I mean Alice has toured consistently for well over the past decade and i'm more than sure every type of fan would have at least seen these songs by now, if not I wouldn't know where they have been hiding.

Iron Maiden recently came off a tour in 2010 where they ignored most of there 80s output and it actually sold and went down really well.

I would love a set of many rare songs, with the odd well known one every so often to keep the show moving nicely.

If he could dare to start a tour with 6 covers, im sure he could start a tour with 6+ rare songs.

I honestly don't mind the fact that Alice always plays the big hits. I'm one of the few people that really likes the Raise The Dead setlist. However, I think it would be great if Alice did a tour next year where he plays all the big hits plus a bunch of rare songs (like in the setlist that I posted above).

I Think there's only two songs that we could add to Raise the Dead to make it perfect

After Dirty Diamonds without the solos do Runaway Train and there the solos that would make perfect sense how he is drive into the Nightmare...Or playing runaway and The Scarlet And Sheba (he said he likes that song to be played live sometime) and the he would get carried away from stage and Solo time....In My Own Personal Opinion that would be FANTASTIC!

I was quite surprised that Runaway Train didn't make the setlist. It has great live potentual. I've heard it was rehearsed though. Anyone know if that's true?
Also, there was meant to have been a melody of I Am Made Of You and Steven. I think that was rehearsed too.

I Am mad eof you/steven It was rehearsed but Kyler never said something about Runaway Train so the most probably option is that RT never made it to the setlist
