Charts

Post by recoop » Thu Aug 14, 2008 10:34 am

Looks to me like ACAS has dropped off Billboard 100..hope wrong...is it in the 200...chance to come back if video or single get released soon to promote..should have been all wrapped up in advance in my opinion...then I think would have bounced up US charts from first week 53...as other people have mentioned touring the current album would have helped...however we can still be hopeful of a re entry when album toured/video released/single released because IMO its a crackin album...any news of Canada or other charts for week 2 after release of the Spider

Well I checked a few places yesterday and it was out of stock. Seems it would have been better if there were more copys available so people could buy it :( ...Not everyone buys albums online there are still alot of people who buy at stores. Go figure

Kind of expected. Even today with all the downloading you still need some radio play. And this big plan of a ACAS next year seems a little strange. He really should be playing more songs from ACAS on the road now, not next year. But then again, like the recent interview says, he records for his fans, not going to try to compete with the Foo Fighters. :/

What you need to remember is that Billboard is considering EVERY type of music in the Top 200.

Look at the charts regarding Rock Music, Heavy Metal, Independent...the results will be different.

Does it matter to you? Personally So long as new material is released I could care less if the country listens with me or AGAINST me... besides I like being able to get good seats to an Alice concert without sitting around a bunch of people who know 4-5 songs top plus the new album When trash made it big I hated the whole Alice is SOOO good comments I got seeing Trash was my first Alice let down. I got into him with Constrictor and RYFAY so trash really didn't do it for me till the concert then I learned to like a few song on it.

It's really the only chart you need.

But not really the stats people are looking for other than for spin maybe (nothing wrong with that.)

According to a post on Metal Sludge, this week ACAS came in at #143 in the U.S. charts with 4,678 more units sold bringing its total as of today to 14,641 units sold.

The Billboard Top 200 chart is THE chart though when quoting an album's highest chart position.

Thanks for the info, WYM. It seems to be an improvement that ACAS has already sold half the US total sales of DD in just two weeks.

And even it's position at #143 is better than DD! Another bonus!

You know what - Forget about the billboard charts- its full of teenage dance queens, talentless goofs who got lucky in a TV vote show, stupid hoe down country artists who sing about some pathetic dude in a holey John Deer baseball cap who got a little drunk and lost his pickup truck down by the railroad track, his wife got mad, made an apple pie for farmer bob next door and now has run off with him. Hee stinkin haw!.

Sam Goody and HMV are heaving with folks who blow their money on sludge
But so wot if 90 percent of the population listen a pile of absolute garbage.
Alice doesn't write that dog crap, and will never be popular with those goofs who love it. Neither has he tried to sell out with a Walmart exclusive like some classic rock artists.

Just be thankful that the assembled company on this board has enough smarts to find the good stuff and listen to it. amen.

Isn't that what DD opened with its first week of sales around 5000? or was it 6000? If that is so then ACAS has sold about the same in it's second week as DD sold in it's first week. I wonder what DD sold in it's second week? would be interesting to know...I still can't help but think that maybe ACAS would have sold a little more it's second week if the stores had had it in stock instead of it being out of stock. I know people buy online but I also know that alot of people buy from the store for example most of my friends who are around my age (I'm 42) buy about all of their music from the store.

Are those sale figures U.S sales or worldwide? I hope they are just U.S sales. would be interesting to know total worldwide sales if they are just U.S sales.

Seems to depend upon the area and whether or not it's in stock. My Best Buy had about 12 copies this past Saturday.....not sure if those were still there from release day, or were a new stock brought in.

I never would have guessed that Alice would do this well with a new release. Very cool.

In 2006 it was up to 28,000, maybe add a few thousand since then.
