"Along Came A Spider" first-week chart positions so far:

Canada: #19
USA: #53
Germany: #26
UK: #31
Sweden: #25
Norway: #30
Austria: #37
Switzerland: #37
Denmark: #46
Holland: #76

this is just so cool
With sales close to 10,000 units in the US that means that ACAS has sold better than DD in its first week as well as charting much much better.

Note that ACAS made the top 20 in Canada and Canada's chart position is the best in the world. More proof that Alice enjoys his greatest popularity in Canada.
And that Canadians RULE!!

It could have been the same position but likely sold less this time around. Album sales aren't what they used to be.

AND note that the album got released JUly 29 over there- mid week. That means that Alice lost a couple of days sales against the others. Looks good

HMV (A multi chain cd/dvd/video/game/etc...) has Alice in its charts at number 23.
Anything I say or write is my own personal opinion, no matter who agrees or disagrees with me.

53 in the US is big. Been a long time since he saw something like that. I think the You Tube / My Space thing with Piggy D was a huge step in the right direction. Now Alice needs to strike while the iron is hot and really start playing some songs off ACAS on the US and Canadian leg of the tour. I still think he won't get the radio play he deserves so play the new stuff on the road.

Red Eye Records - a prominent yet expensive music shop in Sydney have ACAS listed at #7 on their bestsellers chart!

I went to a store in the next town over in Muncie, Indiana a store called Meijers and on Sat 8-2-08 they were sold out of ACAS. I went to a Best Buy today in the same town 8-6-08 and again they are sold out of it. Looks to me it is selling pretty well and needs restocked asap to keep the momentum going as well as that new video needs to come out soon. ... Over on www.yes.com there is a station listed I can't remember the call numbers but when it plays "Vengeance Is Mine" It is #1 on their playing chart...Looks like things are looking good for Alice

BTW just under 10.000 sold...I really do believe it would have sold even better if the stores would have been stocked better.

And just how many copies did you buy Shoey? hehe only joking

Dont know whats happening here, its not really being sold in the mainstream stores so that kind of sucks for sales. I might go to the city and check out 78's or even JB-HiFi have lists of their best sellers, even the Rainbow dvd got to one so theres hope there

I'm happy for the Coop even though I'm not crazy about the new album. For what it's worth, when I went to pick up my "official" copy this week at BEST BUY - it was sold out already.. Indeed a good sign...

I don't think retailers anticipated Alice (who they consider classic rock) to do this well therefore they didn't order enough copys  Silly retailers Alice isn't done :rotfl:
