I see Amazon are saying the Vinyl is now not being released .

Bummer eh ?

It is still up on AmazonUK. But shows discontinued on Amazon.com.
There are photos of the actual product in another thread. Maybe it is just another glitch by Amazon.

No retailers near me got it. They said they will have it August 5th.

What sort of retailers do you buy LPs at in MA? I've never seen an LP in a store near me (granted...I've really not been looking before!)

Newbury Comics. There are two within 5 miles of me. One has a decent LP selection and one has a REALLY decent LP section. I do all my music purchasing there.

For what it's worth, remember that the LP is supposed to be "Limited Edition."

I pre-ordered my copy of the vinyl from a Finnish record store some weeks ago. Last week I got an e-mail from the store that the release of the vinyl has been postponed, the new release date being August 13th.

I preordered mine from amazon.com when they first put the link up here. Now it looks like it is gone. I see it in my order section still but there is no ship date on it anymore.

Amazon just sent me an email stating that they can't get the product but are still trying. And I had to follow a link to keep my order active otherwise they would cancel it after a month.

I'm very confused by not only the delay (which is typical of an Alice Cooper release), but also by the other comments in this thread. If you search amazon (US) for the LP, it's still listed. And here's an excerpt of the email that I got from amazon:

"Unfortunately, we are unable to ship the item(s) as soon as we expected and need to provide you with a new estimate of when the item(s) may be delivered:

Alice Cooper (Artist) "Along Came A Spider (LP) [Enhanced]" [LP Record]
Estimated arrival date: 08/06/2008 - 08/13/2008

We apologize for the inconvenience caused by this delay."

I haven't gotten anything saying that they can't get it, the release has been scrapped, or that my order will be canceled in 30 days.

Amazon.com sent me an email today that says they expect to get the vinyl between August 8-12.

I received the same as stated by Nims.

Too bad this couldn't come out this week as planned, if it had the first week sales figures would be better....btw when do the figures come out?

We don't know if this will or won't toward the sales figures. I'm not sure if Amazon report sales on what was ordered or what was shipped. If they go by what was ordered than no harm done as far as that goes.

Expect to see a sales number possibly within the next few days.

For what it's worth, I've just had an email from AmazonUK saying they have dispatched my Vinyl copies.

Wish they'd dispatch mine. All I've had is the email about my pre-order saying that the date has been pushed back.


Edit: I take it back. They've dispatched mine, too. Jolly good.
