according to a blog Piggy D. posted on myspace. the digipack is available first. once its sold out, it becomes a jewel case. I guess the Digi is the "limited edition".

I prefer jewel case, but digipak will do in a pinch. ;)

digipack sucks. these things get beat up too much (and i take really good care of my stuff...they are just much more subject to wear and tear than a traditional case)

I agree.I'd rather pay more,if that's the reasoning behind digi versus jewel. The only thing I slightly like about them is they remind me of mini album covers!!!!!!!!!!!

I've never owned a digipack in my life so what is it?

Basically a digi-pak is a cardboard housing for CD's. The AC/DC remasters were released in digi-paks. Kinda like a mini vinyl sleeve, if you will.

They seem to be all the rage now along with the Jewel cases that have the button at the side you have to press to get it open.

I hadn't thought about that. I kind of prefer jewel cases too. But if there's a nice booklet slipped in the cardboard sleeve I don't mind.

The newer digi.packs are not that fragile. They have a part with the cd cliped on like a normal jewel case, and the sleeve that closes over it. If you are careful when you pull the booklet out it lasts just as long.

Digi-packs are more elegant objects too.

SPV (if it's down to them) do good digipacks - my Blackmores Night ones (on SPV) have stayed really solid as has my Heaven and Hell DVD. I like all the added artwork you get, which will be (hopefully) cool with ACAS due to the quality of the promo stuff...

Not a fan of digipacks at all, but it's a new Alice record after all.

Just buy a jewel case and use that for the Cd and keep the digipack safe and out of harms way.
