FTI, I think this is a first for this type of song! Tons of harmonica, female blues back up singer wailing mid way through the song. Just unbelievable!

I'm doing the willpower thing and holding off until June to hear the whole album spoiler-free. But this sounds like one worth waiting for. Something's telling me the title track will be the real gem. I'm thinking Halo Of Flies for 2005.

Yo Flush The Fashion, were you calling before??
No was n't me Nick .

I was going to do the same as you and wait for the entire album . But as the tour will prob be in oz just about the time we get the album here , i thought it ll be an advantage to know as many of the tunes beforehand . i would hate not knowing the new tunes while the coop plays them live .

Re did the song sound similar to anything else the coop has done before . I would say no , its very stones ish , think gimmie shelter but with a coopr twist .

I guess I'm in the minority on this one. I am simply not a Rolling Stones fan...never have been....and since this song DOES sound like the Stones, I immediately get turned off by it.

I will give it a chance, I really really WANT to like it....but the harmonica annoys me. Reminds me of Honky Tonk Woman.

Still waiting to hear "Woman of Mass Distraction"...being a huge AC/DC fan, I am expecting I will like that one better than "Zombie Dance."

"Zombie Dance" may be a great song as songs go....but it's just not my taste, that's all.

I think so many people refering to ZD as "sounding like the Stones" is maybe giving the wrong feel. Sure, it may have some stones influence but would we be saying this if Alice hadn`t indroduced it as "maybe having a slight stones feel" or similar? Certainly wouldn't have occured to be without him saying that. With out that I`d have said "has a slight ACG/Blues feel"

1. There is no harmonica in Honky tonk women
2. So you´re not a fan of the more creepy horror stuff that Alice has done? Too bad..

See that? I avoid the Stones so much that I didn't even realize there wasn't a harmonica in that song! My bad.

Anyway...... like I said, I will give it a chance.

I personally do not hear the stones feeling other than maybe Alice trying a british accent. JG, This song is tons more polished than what we have heard from WMD. As you said, you are in the minority on this  .
I'm sure if Alice said there was an Annie Lennox feel in Zombie Dance that everyone would be saying "Yep, I hear the Annie Lennox in there alright." or if he said there was an Usher feel that some people might even say "Yeah I hear the Usher theme in there alright." Oh the powers of suggestion ;).

I only heard the partial song (@#$^! COMPUTER FEED! ) but I've got "Miss You" stuck in my head whenever I try to remember it. I think it's the harmonica.

Hey, does anyone know for sure if Alice played on it? That'd be extra cool!

I think he was really really trying to sing like Mick Jagger, especially in the first verse. Other than that I didn't really get the Stones vibe, except in the fact that alot of Stones songs have the same bluesy feel to them.

Jersey Girl--good choices on your favorite albums. I would have to agree except instead of Eyes I would say LITD. I'm not a huge fan of the Stones either although some of their songs are good. If it has a genuinely creepy feel to the song I think I will like it. If it is too campy like "This House is Haunted" with the silly kazoo sounds, I will be dissapointed.

P.S. It's nice to know someone else likes Dragontown besides Me and Si

How does Zombie Dance compare to Warren Zevon's masterpiece "Werewolves of London"?

How could you compare them? They aren't even the same type of song.
