Def Leppard and Motley Crue
Really?
I just couldn’t buy a ticket for this. Opening act for these two? They must be needing more tickets shifted.

Re: Def Leppard and Motley Crue
Bingo, Del. What has irritated me from the start is that Mötley Crüe SIGNED IN THEIR OWN BLOOD that they would "never be back" after that "final" tour, which ended in 2015. I'm sure there's some pissed-off rockers out there who no longer have a claim to fame. Hey - it's only rock and roll. I get it. Maybe they'll revive the ice-bucket challenge while they're at it.

Re: Def Leppard and Motley Crue
They're going to pay a 75 year old man a lot of money to blow them off the stage. "It's a bold strategy, Cotton. Let's see if it pays off for 'em."
Seriously though I've never seen Def Leppard live so they may be great, I don't know. I have seen MC live (20 plus years ago) and they weren't great even then. Judging from videos of their recent performances I don't think they really care about how bad they are live as long as they're raking in cash hand over fist. In the end I'd rather see Alice end up with a chunk of that cash instead off all of it ending up in the cash register of the Dunkin' Donuts nearest to Vince Neil's home.

I saw this advertised and immediately passed. this is something they would have to pay me to attend.

Re: Def Leppard and Motley Crue
Alice opens. I'm sure Motley plays next, and Def Leppard closes. That's how the 2022 tour went.

Yep, my mistake. Everything I read about at the time must have coincidentally been shows Def Leppard closed!

Re: Def Leppard and Motley Crue
This is pretty horrible on paper for fans. For Alice though, it's probably a good wager for 45 minutes work every night, plus he's likely back at his hotel by 10pm.
I guess this is the ultimate example of the difference between what fans want to see in the final years of his touring career and what makes sense from a business perspective.

Re: Def Leppard and Motley Crue
i cant be angry alice has taken these gigs (i presume it is ridiculously easy money) lets be honest, he would probably get paid more per show than his solo shows.
Is it a sad fact more people will go and see Vince Neal huff and puff his way badly through their mediocre hits - 100% yes it is.
I mean take john 5, he has taken over from mick mars and you absolutely know he has been paid a living fortune for it. why shouldn't Alice do the same?
Lets just hope Kane Roberts, john 5 and Alice cooper get to writing a track in the downtime!!!

Re: Def Leppard and Motley Crue
We believe that report is wrong.
For a start some of those dates clash with Hollywood Vampires shows that were announced weeks ago.
Also there hasn't been anything announced, apart from the original six US shows, by any official source.
If it was correct why aren't more sites showing that information?
Maybe it will turn out to be correct but right now it looks like it's a mistake, someone misreading or misunderstanding the press release.

Re: Def Leppard and Motley Crue
I agree with Si's take on this. One, this is Def Leppard and Motley's tour, they are doing a World Tour and are likely to add another band (maybe even a couple) to their shows throughout the world. In the United States, Alice is doing a handful of shows but there is no way he is cancelling the Hollywood Vampires shows. The Vampires haven't, due to Covid and other reasons, been able to tour together in quite a while. They aren't going to give up this tour.
In regards to Alice opening for Def Leppard and Motley (which frankly I am not interested in a tour where Alice is playing an hour or less as an opener), I suspect that Alice is going to add some solo dates and play longer shows on days Def Leppard and Motley are off. I am a bit surprised that it is looking like there aren't going to be in early 2023 touring dates (say around March) because usually those are announced more quickly if that is going to happen.
Alice may be using the first part of 2023 to finish up the two albums he has been working on. I keep expecting the Hollywood Vampires to announce a new album as well. Just my two cents.

Re: Def Leppard and Motley Crue
I’m not angry at Alice for doing a few shows which bring him to a wider audience again and presumably pay enough to make it worthwhile. I just think it’s a shame that it’s these bands and particularly the Crue who have never had time for. I’ll get over it but honestly, the Crue??
