Re: Theatre of Death DVD
So, just stopped by Best Buy, where I often get my DVDs to pick up TOD and Suck. Well...suck. They didn't have Suck. Guess that's not an "in store" item for any Best Buy in this area. I watched him check the computer. And then, I couldn't find the TOD DVD, because.....it was in the CD section in a jewel case?! Has anyone else gotten it in this version? The sticker on the front says it's the "triple death package" and states it includes the DVD, CD, and poster. Just got home and haven't opened it up, but all the images I had seen online made me think I was looking for a regular DVD-sized case, no matter what version or where I ordered from.

I know someone else in Canada who said they got Suck at Best Buy. I just checked and Barnes and Noble in my area says they have Suck in stock. Do you have one near you? Might be worth a try.

Yeah, I was expecting the DVD case, so asked for help to find it, as I never thought to look in the CD section!

Re: Theatre of Death DVD
I went to Best Buy and bought it the day it came out and did the same thing you did. I looked for it in a DVD case. I had called earlier in the day and they told me they only had the CD which I knew was wrong so I went to the CD section anyway and there it was. It is the real deal just not what I expected packaging wise.NotSoPerfect wrote:So, just stopped by Best Buy, where I often get my DVDs to pick up TOD and Suck. Well...suck. They didn't have Suck. Re: Theatre of Death DVD
It's even more confusing on amazon.de. They advertise it as a cd, it says so on your order and invoice too. But it's the import dvd+cd.
I am assuming that the UK pre order has got a dvd case and different packaging? I don't really need to have the thing twice but if the packaging is nice I might keep my pre order up.
And no I haven't watched it yet. Don't have the time, and when I do I just want to go to bed. Told you I am one to prefer the excitement of expectation to the actual object

Re: Theatre of Death DVD
We recently got a blu-ray player, so I have to wait until later in the month to see it. It's been very close to me picking up the dvd, too, though. My blu-ray won't get here until after I see the show again (11 days!!), so I should still be on a high from the concert when it gets here.
Thanks for the reviews!

Re: Theatre of Death DVD
Got the DVD finally. I have to say "I Never Cry" is probably one of the best captured vocal performances from Alice I've ever seen. Absolutely wonderful.
Who is doing the back up VOX on this song tho? I hear multiple voices but I don't believe I see anyone at any mics. Pre-recorded?

Re: Theatre of Death DVD
For the back vocals in I Never Cry, I'm pretty sure it was recorded later after the show, 'cause we don't hear it in the Concert-Online bootleg.
There is different part which was recorded after the show:
-A little part of 'Ballad Of Dwight Fry' (vocal)
-Last lead guitar's tune of 'Go To Hell'
-A part of each chorus of 'From The Inside' (vocal)
-The first part of the School's Out reprise (vocal), I expect that the recording is from the 'Alice Does Alice' version for this one.
Just try to listenn the Concert Online bootleg, it sound really different in these points...

Re: Theatre of Death DVD
Watched it once. But I am too busy to really review it.
Was fun too watch and seeing friends.
After the first time I must say I still prefer Montreux. But that could be due to my current state of mind. Very busy and stressed out. Will have to watch it again when I am less busy... er, in a next life time

Gotta wonder why Halo Of FLies never gets recorded on these live albums....always Devil's Food/Black Widow. While the Nightmare instrumental segments are awesome, Halo should get an airing, why is it always overlooked when the cameras are rolling???

Don't bother. It's just a coincidence.

Halo of Flies was not performed last year on the current tour or during any of the tours that the Alice Cooper concert films were produced for.RB-Tone wrote:Gotta wonder why Halo Of FLies never gets recorded on these live albums....always Devil's Food/Black Widow. I ordered mine from Amazon and it came in the regular DVD packaging with DVD, CD and poster.NotSoPerfect wrote:And then, I couldn't find the TOD DVD, because.....it was in the CD section in a jewel case?! I was at Disney World last week, so it was a nice treat to come home and find it in the pile of mail.

Re: Theatre of Death DVD
I was thinking about to order an import as well because I'm one of the deplorable ones who has to wait till the european release. Now I'm glad I didn't because today I found a great preorder bundle deal: The DVD/CD + a "keepin helloween alive" coloured vinyl single.
Did you know that this one came out on vinyl?
That was absolutely new to me.
I ordered it in a heartbeat because as a fan of physical formats I was hoping for a vinyl relase of that one.
Now I want the "Alice does Alice" 10" EP next please...

Woa, that's awesome Atlanta Santa!
Thanks for sharing, might buy that one!
Have you any idea if the text on the DVD box and such is in German though?
'Cause I'd rather have it in English...

I think that the vinyl is an unofficial release.
