True. I just wish we had more proper rock festivals in scotland.

They tried Download there once, and they had Gig on the Green, but there wasn't enough of a crowd. Pity really - travel costs a lot of money these days.

I wish that Download would have a scheme like Sonisphere, where you can pay your tickets up over a period of time.

Maybe we will get the Alice/Rob Zombie double-header as a proper tour around that time?

Alice will be headlining the second stage on the Saturday and Rob Zombie will be headlining the same stage on the Sunday. It's a pity they won't be playing together.

It wouldn't be the whole ToD show anyway. He may use it to try out a few new things (maybe even a preview of new material), you never know.

I would definitely go if I didn't have exams. Would be exciting if he decided to debut any new material!

A little quote in this weeks' Kerrang from Alice about his Download appearance.

"This will be my first appearance at Donington and it's gonna be great."
"We're going to do a brand new show this year. There'll be all kinds of surprises and we'll be playing a lot of the heavier Alice stuff from over the years."
"Festival shows are like a big outdoor party, so you just want to keep the music hot, heavy, and moving."

I've been to Donington every year since '83, and had given up on Alice ever playing.

As 2nd stage headliner he'll get about an hour and a quarter, unless he's cut a special deal, and the set would usually start at 9ish.

The second stage is almost the same size as the 1st, and he should attract a large crowd against the 'marmite' mainstage headliner that night, System of a Down.
Personally i love 'em as well, so i'll be bounding over to the main stage as soon as Alice has finished to see as much as i can of their set.

:rotfl: I know the feeling Ravenred.
After seing the Stones at the big stadium in Basel in 92 or something, I said I would never go there again...

I also said I wouldn't want to see Alice outdoors again. I still don't want to. But we usually get only one date in Switzerland (only exception I can recall was Brutal Planet) so I have to go :(

Me too but Alice festival # 5 is going to have to be done.

It should be a new show too and Donnington is the big rock outdoor venue and another triumph for Alice.

Who knows we may even see Bruce, Dunaway, Smith and Hunter onstage laying the UK to waste with Alice on June 11
Lead guitar on Social Debris. Album on iTunes, Amazon & Spotify, title track featured on TV

So is Alice spreading just 'rumors' for a "brand new show with the heavier alice songs"?I hope not !

Is this the first time you noticed that? Again, I'm not saying it definitely won't be a different show, but that it's unlikely based on past experience and given that it isn't the plan for the next album to be out by the time the show at Donnington happens. I can see there being some changes given that the summer shows will be open - air festivals, but I think it will still be the "Theatre Of Death" show.

I could see the setlist being different maybe. I don't imagine a brand new show. If the album isn't going to be out until later then I'm sure they aren't going to want to justify investing into a brand new show that will just be used for one tour, if that.
