Some good constructive points there but, (although I wouldn't miss it either), with the 'Theatre of Death' as the title of the Tour, and with multiple executions, even with just a few bars of the song, I reckon 'I Love the Dead' is something of a cornerstone in the setlist.

Well, there ya go! 'nuff said on that one!

As far as 'relevant' songs go tho', I reckon 'Sex,
Death and Money' would be a fantastic surprise!

I think the biggest suprise is the lack of songs played from ACAS since 2008. Just the 2, last year, and only a single song this year. Very rare for Alice to not represent a new album in in great detail.

Vengance and Feminine, guess nothing else will ever be preformed from this album.

Pretty dissapointing, especially when the concept had great potentia.

First of all, I was going to do my best not to look at the setlist, so I'd be surprised. I'm glad I changed my mind, because I would have been disappointed when many songs I was looking forward to were gone.

I'm excited about the inclusion of the From the Inside/Go To Hell era. He seems to have put together a story, but how could he not do Steven? Perhaps he does it all the time, but is such a chilling song. Glad to see the Awakening is there though.

I'm really going to miss Halo of Flies. Of course, it doesn't fit the story, but it is such a killer live.

My friends aren't terribly familiar with Alice, so I'm likely going to make them mix CDs using the setlist.

It's almost always amusing when people comment on something they have not yet seen.

Can't wait to hear the songs from Goes to Hell and From the Inside live!

I'll make my annual "I wish Alice would play just ONE track from 1980-1983 period" but I'm now at the point where I know that won't happen...

Just glad I will be front row on Aug 22!

I really think people should wait until they actually see the show. It sounds like this is a highly theatrical show where all the new visuals will add a lot to the songs played.

I don`t think anybody is suggesting that there is anything wrong with the show on a theatrical level and visually, from what i have seen it looks fantastic,it`s more the lack of new material track wise.
It must be true A_Michael said so

That's not what glamprincess is referring to. She's referring to the merger of both the musical and visual elements.

My post was relating to the songs only -- that's what this thread is all about.

Like the first post said:

I haven't seen the show and If this tour was only about the music -- like the Bare Bones Tour in 2003 I really would have been some kind of disappointed about this set - Where are the 80's, where is "The Last Temptation", etc....
But even he has chosen a lot of the same Nightmare stuff again I'm sure the songs will work great together with the theatrics. So I won't complain too much.
I got a job in atlanta in a mall playing santa

Personally, I'm really looking forward to hearing "Nurse Rosetta" and "From the Inside" live. I've seen everything else in a show before, and as I recall, when he did it a few years ago, "Guilty" got a pretty good audience reaction, even from those who didn't know it, as it was pretty high energy and he interacted well with the crowd.

Come on Thursday and Sunday! I looked at the pictures linked in the other thread....looks good!

ACAS is a much better album to just do 1 song. I like seeing Nurse Rozetta, Guilty, The Awakening, DoY in the set and nice to see Feed My Frankenstein and Lost in America dropped. But doing SO twice is dumb imo. I'm disappointed, looks like Alice is a full blown nostalgia act.

Maybe there'll be more from the album as the shows go on, maybe not, who knows. I'm happy I got to see Feminine Side last year; the band's familiar with it so there's hope it could creep back into the setlist. Never say never...

Overall it has to be difficult for Alice to choose roughly 20+ songs from four decades of music, at the same time balancing it out with familiars AND what works with the theatrics on any particular tour, PLUS giving the die-hards those hidden gems like Who Do You Think We Are and Beverly Hills. You can only pack so many kids in the car.
If I may put forward a slice of personal colostomy...

Can't wait to see the theatrics but I have to admit, the setlist leaves me a little underwhelmed! Here's hoping that it does morph somewhat before it hits the UK.

I'm stunned that there's only 1 track from ACAS, wonder what the thinking is behind that, I thought for sure that there would be at least 3!

First i am so looking forward to the UK tour  but like a few others it would be nice to hear more than one song from ACAS especially as the UK last year didn't get to hear any of it live like in other countries.
I wanna hurt you just to hear you screaming my name
