First off, i just got Along Came A Spider. Love the cd to death. A great ride of songs that in a way kinda time travels through the sounds of albums of the past, get a mix of a lot of classic stuff and newer stuff.

Yet i was kinda stunned when i saw the cd tray was over the far right flap over the "spider weapon" blueprints whereas i saw pics and a youtube unveiling of the album with the cd tray in the middle, which i think looks much much better.

Yeah. Mine is the same. I was pissed at first. But look at it this way. If you're looking at the case, chances are you're going to listen. If the CD is out of the case it isn't in the way.

A school of thought here could be that the CD is "covering up" or "hiding" the blueprints from the eyes of the authorities. Popping the CD out exposes the "plans", therefore inviting us to enter the ideology of a serial killer and eventually... the album's music.

I personally think it was done and not noticed till the end so they didnt bother re-packaging. It was clearly meant to be int the middle. Would have looked so much better there too.

it is actually a mistake on the behalf of the USA manufacturing. the european version is correct I think. the tray was supposed to be over the blood.

maybe they will fix it on the reprint of the jewel case?

Hmmmm i still think its weird it happened.

I emailed SPV about it yesterday and asked if it might be fixed in the future, i have yet to receive a reply.

As i said i know its minor but if the cd tray is supposed to be in the middle, it needs to be in the middle. It would be cool if they got a hold of the manufactuer, got things right, and maybe have those with the misplaced cd tray send just the digipack in (so we can still enjoy the cd) for a swap out. Yet i understand that could get costly. Dont know.

....I can't get any of these "New Fangled" cds to play....the hole is too big in the middle, and the needle just scratches over the shiny surface....

Does anyone know if the record store that was selling autographed copies is still selling them? Was it only for cd or for vinyl also?

Newbury comics was selling the CD with a signed booklet. It does not look like they have anymore.

The booklet cover is the album cover, just smaller.
